I am very curious to know so much about what Coach U wants.
What kind of offense doesnhe want to run? Traditional PG? Positionless? Tatum as the Point Forward?
What kind of defense is he going to implement? What kind of bigs does he prefer?

Does Udoka want Smart?
Does he want more shooting?
Does he like big men that play the perimeter, or who operate more like a traditional big man (he played with and assisted in coaching Tim Duncan after all).

It was mentioned in today's press conference that we were 27th in the league in assists, and Udoka said this is an area he wants to improve.
One way is to get the incumbent players to think more about ball movement. Another way is to bring in players who can help fascilitate ball movement.
I want to see this team be pass happy and have a bunch of guys scoring the ball.

We used to be a team that always made the extra pass. At some point, that just disappeared and we went into hero-ball mode.
However that stat itself is abit misleading. Some teams are built to pass and create mismatches, whilst others are built to be a team that moves swiftly in transition for the quick drive before defenses get set. I'd want Udoka to find the style that gets the most of out of this team rather than follow the statistics blindly.

As long as Udoka can transform Smart into Dennis Johnson 2.0.

I've seen a lot of things to like about Ime, but maybe my favorite one is his saying that he plans to approach Jaylen and Jayson the same way he did Kawhi, which is to say "What are you waiting for? Don't give these guys (other stars in the league) too much respect." Basically challenging them to be great right now, not in the five years.

I'm glad to hear that. I just wanted us to hire the best candidate, regardless of race, sex or age.

If Udoka wants the team to have a defensive identity, Fournier better be working hard on the shuttle dash and hip flexibility this summer (if he wants to resign with us). Who knows, maybe Udoka has already decided he doesn't want Evan here.

I'm glad to hear that. I just wanted us to hire the best candidate, regardless of race, sex or age. This is the smartest quote in sports I have heard in years. It gives me a glimer of hope that common sense may start to be on the way back.

Is Udoka focusing on people with Oregon ties? Damon Stoudemire and Aaron Miles are both from OR.

I love that Ime is a defensive minded coach. Defense wins. The biggest drop off last season was their defense and that made a huge difference. I also loved that he called out Brad on being 27th in the league in assists and saying that he wants more teamwork. Both defense and working as a team were shortcomings in last year's team and I'm looking forward to seeing those two things improve under Coach Udoka.

I'd love to see Udoka bring this team together and the guys all play hard for each other. And hound the heck out of the ball defensively. From what he has said, I think that's exactly what he plans to have them do. I really hope he holds them accountable as well. If they start playing hero ball, they need to sit until they play for the team again. If they don't play tough defense, then they need to sit until they do, whether it's Tatum, or Brown or Nesmith or Romeo. I also think that's what the team wants. Tatum and Brown have already said that they want him to push them and to hold the team accountable. I'm really excited to see if they actually do it though. I've heard coaches every season talk about how they are going to run and play defense but then the season starts and it doesn't happen. Udoka seems like the kind of guy that will follow through, however.
