What do you want to see Coach Udoka get out of this team?
For me it's defense, to get the players to buy into the big picture (which equates to unselfishness), and better offense.

Accountability. Holding every player accountable. Empowering them but not to the point where its iso hero ball every damn time.

Hold players accountable where Brad didn't.

I want him to get Jaylen to resign, get another bonafide young star, and either get Tatum to resign AND get his head and heart straight or trade him for excellent value like another star similar to him. A Doncic, Tre Young, Booker. That kind of kid

I want us to run. We have one of the league's best players in the open court, Jaylen, and we don't take enough advantage of it. Robert could also be an elite floor runner. I think Nesmith could excel in the fast break game too.
In the halfcourt, I want him to institute an offense built on ball movement and player movement. No more ISO ball where four players stand around and watch.
I want an attacking defense where our guys are pressuring the ball. Nothing easy. We were way too soft last year.
As mentioned, I want everyone accountable. No one plays because of how much they make. Perform or sit.

We see what can happen when players play as a team and hustle, as in the case of Atlanta and Phoenix. These teams are young but headed to the Finals because they play hard and together.
That's what we've got to be again, like we were a few years ago. Udoka has got to bring back that team spirit.

Udoka spent 7 years learning under Greg Popovic, including witnessing the well oiled 2014 championship team. m.youtube.com/watch?v=HRy4xYZdSQ0Really hope Udoka can get this team to be a disciplined, smart, unselfish and executing team like that 2014 team.

Going to need a lot of smart and disciplined and unselfish and skilled players to play like that. Brad's got to bring in the right players, and Udoka's coaching staff has to develop them. Hoping it'll all work out beautifully.

It helps to have two big men (Al and Robert) who are very good passers. I've been really impressed with how well Robert sees the court and how quickly he makes decisions. I think he's on an elite level with that skill.
Ironically it may be our best players that need to change the most. Tatum is a bit of a ball-stopper. We'd have to hope they can see how getting the D in rotation makes it so much easier for them to get easy shots.
Smart's problem is that he's made zero progress in 7 years in understanding what a good shot is.

Take a look at this link. It shows Marcus Smart's shooting percentages from the various zones on the court. He is either way below league average or somewhat below league average everywhere - except for the left corner, where he is way ABOVE league average. www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/marcus-smart-shot-chart-this-season-by-zoneHow 'bout IME shows Marcus this chart, tells him that he's hurting the team shooting from anywhere but the left corner - excepting layups and dunks of course. Then he has to pull him off the court if he doesn't get the point. Smart could be a valuable 3 and D player if he stuck to shooting from that left corner.

Even as good a scorer Tony Parker was, he played within the system and kept the ball moving. Tatum and Jaylen need to be the main ones to buy into Udoka's system and emphasize it on the court.

I would love to see Udoka make this team a top 10 team in assists per game (after being 27th last season).
