Slight buzz about us going after Lillard.
I'll be ecststic with this move if he proves to be an excellent fit with Tatum and Brown, and if he doesn't continue this trend of star players coming here and getting injured.
Would be great to move on from Kemba's contract to bring in Dame.
Also, if Lillard comes aboard, I don't think we resign Fournier.

I'd be all for it, but i dont think we have the pieces to get him.

Yeah, I don't us getting him without giving up Brown plus additional players and/or picks. Maybe a bigger trade, even a multi-team trade, would get it done.

Yeah, I don't us getting him without giving up Brown plus additional players and/or picks. Maybe a bigger trade, even a multi-team trade, would get it done. Kemba, Marcus Smart, their pick of Romeo or Nesmith (or Pritch since he's from Oregon) and draft picks. But whoever our head coach is has to be able to turn Tatum, Brown and Lillard into a winning trio, and not just three guys who do lots of scoring.

Unless Dame categorically refuses to play for POR anymore I don't see why POR does this. He's under contract for 3 more years (4th year is a player option). After next year they have very little on the books other than their Big 2. Why not stay the course and go after a big fish in summer 2022?
If you were a Blazer fan would you want to see Dame traded for a lame scorer who is never there when you need him, a guy who tries hard but can't shoot yet nevertheless doesn't let that stop him, and an unproven young guy, plus picks that are unlikely to be very good?
I mean, if I'm Brad I'd jump at it, but I just don't see it.

I think POR needs to realize that Dame and McCollum will not win a title, and Dame is turning 31 soon. They ought to look into a rebuild before they're too late.
So with us, you'll get expiring contracts, some nice young players and mid round draft picks. Not a lot, but not bad either.

Well, I hope you're right. I think including Fournier in a sign and trade would sweeten the deal for POR. Fournier, Smart, Thompson and picks. Smart and TT are expiring contracts. POR would still have plenty of cap space in summer 2022.
We'd still have to move Kemba in a separate deal.

Does it make sense to trade for Lillard?
It will most likely involve trading Jaylen and some of our youth and whatever draft picks of value we have -- all for a premiere scoring 30 year old.
Well, one the one hand we'll have 2 players who can score 30 pts on any given night.
But on the other hand, Dame's window is going to start to close soon.

And defense is going to be an issue when guarding opposing small forwards, wings and shooting guards. Jaylen was good at that. Dame won't help in that area at all. Plenty of really good players in that category who we have to guard... Klay, PG, Kawhi, Butler, Middleton etc.
