Jaylen Brown’s emergence into legit stardom has really settled things in my mind. I’ve long been on the fence regarding what level he’ll peak at, and to my big surprise he’s flashing Top 20 status, maybe higher (I’d like to see how he does with the game on the line).
He and Tatum form one of the league’s best duo, both capable of averaging 25-5-3 plus better than a steal per game.
So that takes care of the 4 and the 3.
Payton Pritchard, with little doubt, can be the starting PG and be, at the very least, league average. But I’m assuming better than that due to his deft feel for the game. If he looks like a veteran after 14 games, wait till he gets a whole year (and an actual offseason with pro trainers) under his belt.
That takes care of the 1.
At Center, I’m still on the fence, but Robert Williams could be that guy eventually. We know that Brad doesn’t necessarily favor scoring Centers, and if anything, he prioritizes defense here. If Rob can settle down and become a positionally aware defender, and use the lob and offensive putbacks as his scoring contributions, we’ll have our 5.
And that leaves us with finding our 2. Like I said previously, that could be Romeo. Or like JMost pointed out, maybe Nesmith because of his sharp shooting. I may prefer Romeo because he’s more diverse (can play the Fascilitator role, is a better slasher and defender).
But there’s also a chance we draft our future 2 (lots of choices, even late in the 1st).
Or maybe we trade our TPE for someone. Doubt that it’ll be Beal. Maybe Buddy. Neither of these two are notable defenders, so there’s that.
But I feel this is going to be the final piece of the puzzle.

I love Brown and Tatum, but am not sold on anybody else as keystones of the next great Celtic team. Beyond JB and JT we have a lot of decent players, but I don't see any stars - although admittedly it's very early on some guys.

Beyond JB and JT we have a lot of decent players, but I don't see any stars - although admittedly it's very early on some guys. Superstars win championships, but not without a good supporting cast. Jordan and Pippen would not have won their titles without key players like Kerr and Paxson, Rodman and Grant, Cartright and Kukoc. I may be jumping the gun, but I think Pritchard will be a solid starting PG on a championship team. Not as confident in Rob Williams, and wouldn’t mind seeking for a more sure thing. But the focus needs to be on that 2 guard — if we can plug in the right player here, we’re gold.

Back to back games with three 3pt shots made. I like that! He also looks comfortable for a rookie.

He's smart, athletic and works hard. If he can stay healthy and maintain what seems to be a great attitude, he has every chance to succeed. If he can be a reliable 3 point shooter and play good D I'd be happy with him. But I think he has more than that in him. He's showed some ability to slash, and to pass. I'm hopeful with him but not confident yet.

For him to be the no doubt starter on a championship team — and let’s just say he plays the Bruce Bowen role — he’ll need to be a feared 3 pt shooter who teams think twice about leaving open. Defenders will have to stay near him or else.
