I’m very curious to know what rival coaches think of Jaylen Brown. Do they think he warrants double teams (when Tatum isn’t on the court)? Is he that much of a threat?
Or do they view him like Kris Middleton — a guy who can hurt you, but you don’t necessarily gameplan to stop him.
Or maybe coaches are starting now to worry about Jaylen.

Gordon leaving and Kemba being out will turn into a blessing for this team as JB grows into his full potential. He's been too deferential in the past, but now he has no choice but to be aggressive, and I love it. Let's hope he starts drawing doubles when JT is on the bench. I think that's why Danny picked guys like Pritch and Nesmith - to make teams pay for doing so.

His breaking out coincided with his improved ball handling, understanding what to do when he gets to the rim, and Hayward leaving. It all fell in place at the same time, and he is capitalizing on it.
I’ll be the first one to admit he’s exceeded my expectations already. And I’m waiting to see what level he levels off at.

And with Jaylen let loose, he can take care of the first 3 quarters, and then hand the ball over to our Closer, Tatum.

I am starting to think that Brown is better than Tatum, he just hasn't been aggressive enough to take over. He is much more efficient with the same or better athletic ability.

I've been thinking that too. The great thing though is that we have them both, and there doesn't seem to be any jealousy between them. Nobody pouts if the other guy is The Man on any particular night.

We’ll have to see how Jaylen does when teams gameplan for him. Where I Jaylen excelling at over Tatum is his drives to the basket. His hesitation dribble and quick first step allows him to get to the rim cleaner than Tatum. And Jaylen has been really exploiting the mid range area. Tatum should follow suit. Tatum, in my opinion, is still the higher celing player.

It started from last season and has continued on this year — Jaylen looks comfortable with his game. He’s found a tempo that works (not always full steam ahead), found a few tricks that work when he’s near the rim, and found his sweet spot in the midrange.
I don’t think these aspects were part of his game before. He’s shaped himself into a potent player. Congrats to him.

I’m also curious to know what execs around the league think of the Tatum-Jaylen duo? Do they think these two players together are close to contention?
Like I never looked at the John Wall-Bradley Beal duo as potential contenders who were only missing a final piece. Or even Donavan Mitchell-Rudy Gobert. I don’t think Jokic-Murray are a 1-2 punch who’s missing a 3rd star for the knockout blow.
Do teams look at Tatum and Jaylen and say, ‘man, these two guys are just a No. 3 guy away from being title contenders.’?
Or are they thinking, ‘you know, these two kids are really something; but if Boston wants to contend, they need to get a real No. 1, or a No. 1b.

I don't see Tatum and Brown as only a [HASH]3 guy away, but I also see year to year growth by both of them, so their best is still in front of them. Over the next few years, our top two will continue to get better, while many of the other contenders will start to "age out".

Like, do you think that they see Tatum-Jaylen as a better duo than Lillard-McCollough in their peak?

I do, because our guys play D and rebound as well as score.

I do, because our guys play D and rebound as well as score. Yeah, I do too. Better height, length and athleticism too. But I wonder if execs to think this? The reason I ask is because I don’t want to be caught with green glasses on. If my homerism gets the better of me, I’m just dillusional.
