On most nights, Tatum and Jaylen are going to get their 20+ pts.
Our problem is not knowing who will consistently be the next high scorer. It’s anyone’s guess as to whom it will be.
I remember having this problem when Pierce and Antoine were our top 2 scorers, and the drop off to the next highest scorer (that gap) was the biggest in the league. I think Eric Williams was the 3rd highest scorer and his average was in the low teens.
I don’t think we have anyone on the roster right now who can average 18 ppg.
Having a scorer like that will lessen the pressure of relying on guys like Smart, Theis, and Grant to come up with a few extra points.

Right now it should be Tristan Thompson.

Right now it should be Tristan Thompson. And we’re in trouble if we need Tristan to be our 3rd highest scorer. For sure, when Kemba comes back, and depending on healthy that knee is, he’ll likely be that 3rd scorer. Maybe in time, with a major boost in his development, Romeo might be that guy. Or, like I’m hoping, Ainge trades for Buddy Heild, who will definitely be that guy.

Interesting what’s happening with Nesmith.
Is it not understanding defensive schemes?

Interesting what’s happening with Nesmith. Is it not understanding defensive schemes? Either they lied about how smart and coachable he is or they were wrong. He looked pretty good in pre season, so I don't get it

I got a crazy theory he's not the shooter they thought he was. He perhaps had one good year where he was on for like 12 games and that's it. He's good, not great and has regressed to the mean.
The only other thing I can think of is not wanting to take shots from the Js. Maybe he's a ball hog in practice shooting it each time. Maybe even making it too, and just not getting it

I think it's all about the D. From what I've seen he can shoot and does so with confidence.
This is not unusual for rookies on winning teams. Bad teams are content to play guys whose D isn't up to snuff, but on good teams you can't play a guy just because he can shoot. It's not good for team morale. He'll get minutes when he shows he can do the job on both ends.

Which leads me to think
a) Brad is letting only 1 rookie at a time get playing time in meaningful minutes
b) Brad does not want to showcase Nesmith or else teams will be asking for him in trade packages

Who knows? Maybe he had a very minor injury that wasn't worth publicizing but which wasn't worth risking making worse either. Maybe he had a stomach virus. We just don't know. I'm not worried.

Right, I’m not worried at all. Even if we get nothing out of him this year, it’s way too early to get worried.

Anyone have an opinion about Draymond? Is he still a high caliber player? Running out of gas?
Talk is that if GSW continue to sputter, they’ll look to move players. Can’t imagine it being Steph or Klay. Draymond will be the odd man out.
The Warriors have had interest in Smart.
I can’t say yes or no at the moment. A younger Draymond, yes. A 30 year old Draymond, hmmm..........

I think with Nesmith it's that he's struggling to pick up the defense. The league is so wing-centric now, your wings have to be able to at the right place all the time. But I'm not worried. The season is one week old. I'm sure he'll pick it up eventually. I think the bigger worry is that this team is such need of wing health that the C's need a 20 year old mid-first draft pick to contribute asap. Thankfully I'm assuming we'll be able to get some help by packaging the TPE with a first rounder or two. Also, I wonder if we can get PJ Tucker with that Kanter TPE and a couple of 2nds? Im not sure if that TPE would be big enough, but i know tucker doesnt make a ton of money.

Grant Williams just had a good game and "consistency" is the word I thought of. We're getting a little excited about Semi and Time Lord because they're showing more consistency. Jaylen is showing more consistency. Smart is showing a little more. Pritchard is showing it. Some guys are behind a bit. Grant has to catch up.
