I'm not the hugest fan of Javonte Green, but I can't see paying Semi more than Javonte. Maybe he's a little better defender and slightly more versatile. Maybe. It's criminal to me that Tremont Waters makes a small fraction of what Carsen makes. I'd rather cut Carsen, and just use up Tremont's 45 days on cheap 2 way contract. Then I'd sign him the rest of the year and get another 2 way guy. Do they need him that bad for practice?

Tremont is too ball dominant. Maybe that’s by design because Brad wants to keep turnovers down with the second unit, but it definitely slows down the offense.
I’m not going to miss Edwards if he’s traded or released, but there’s still a last remaining hope that he can be Eddie House.

I don't mind Semi as an end of the bench guy. He does a good job defending both Giannis and Ben Simmons. In last night's game there was an instance where Simmons drove to the hope against Semi. Semi had him pinned behind the backboard. Simmons tried to push him off his spot, but Semi wouldn't budge. Dude is strong. That said, I'd have a hard time giving him much more than a vet min deal once his contract is up.

I'd agree if somone said to me we're going into the playoffs and you can only have Semi or Javonte, I probably want Semi. At least today I would. Over the course of the year I generally don't see him as much more valuable than Javonte, but in crunch time he probably is. I also think he'd be better on other teams than this one.

Semi isn't going to blow anyone away, but to me there's value in a guy who plays good D, doesn't turn the ball over, and can hit open shots. I thought he made progress on his 3s last year. I don't expect him to ever be a starter, but I don't mind him as a bench guy. At least you can confidently say he's an NBA player. I don't feel that way about Carsen or Tacko (or Poirier last year).

Semi as a defensive specialist is fine. But as a regular rotational player, he’ll have to give us more (like hit 40% from 3 on multiple attempts per game, produce more steals, ball deflections, blocks, etc).

I don't think he's good enough to be a regular rotational player either, but I don't mind him as a deep bench guy.

He played nearly 15 mpg last season, so he’s more than a deep bench player, and not quite a top 9 rotation player.
He’s just got to give us more. Last season he shot almost 38% from 3 on just under 2 attempts. Would like to see him bump those numbers up.

Last year was weird. Even before the season was put on pause, we almost never had all our top players healthy for a game. I bet it didn't happen 10 times. That opened up a lot of minutes for players further down the depth chart. When the playoffs arrived Semi only played 23 minutes in 6 games against the Heat.

Yeah, I’m ready to dump Semi and Javonte Green. I’d rather replace them with end of the bench players who I can count on to give me something specific, like sharp shooters.

Edwards has to go first. At least the other guys occasionally show something. Carsen is a shooter who can't shoot. Not sure how to justify his place on the roster. At least the other guys can play D.

But even then they are not coming up with steals, blocks or shut down defense. I just think they don’t impact enough to justify playing them as much as Brad does. Yeah, Carsen needs to go. Unfortunately, no one wants him probably.
