I totally agree, he is a terrible coach for lazy "stars" like Simmons and Embid. Embid was starting to put in the work to get better, now he won't be pushed to get better by Doc, so if he continues it means that he truly has matured and will be a beast. Simmons is a lost cause and it is a matter of time before his false hype will start to fade.

One of the things that came out from a Sixer player was that the coaching staff hadn't held people accountable this past season. I think Doc will do that, and I don't think he'll put up with Simmons not even trying to score from outside, or with Embiid shooting too much from outside. That said, Doc had to bear responsibility for his teams repeatedly losing 3-1 playoff leads. Something is missing there. I think he's a good man, and I was happy to have him here in 2008, but I don't know that he's the guy to lead Philly to a title.

Simmons may never solve his shooting woes, and though Embiid remained relatively injury free this season, he’s a ticking bomb (plus he’s an abrasive personality). Doc might stabilize the lockerroom, but he can’t fix Simmons’ jumper or Embiid health. Maybe Morey comes in and blows up most of the team and builds around either Simmons or Embiid.
