An argument can be made that we are on the cusp of contention. And with Hayward and Kemba on the roster, now is the time to throw all the chips in before they start to decline (or their contract expires). Trading our 1, 2, or all 3 of our first round picks for a veteran who can help our bench might be all we need to get us over the hump.
But then again you might say that we only have 2 players that we can bank our future on — Jayson and Jaylen. And being that they are so young still, building this team and surrounding these two players with enough firepower should be the aim of our drafts.
I could lean on either side, but logically if we are so close now, we should make every effort to try for the title. I don’t know — maybe a vet like Rudy Gay?

We definitely don't need 3 more rookies on the team. We have Jaylen and Jayson who are on the verge of stardom. We have All stars in Kemba and Gordon and Marcus Smart who defies labels but is crucial to winning. We have young players like Grant, Robert, and Romeo that need a little more seasoning to hit their ceiling. More youth is not what we need.
If we can turn the picks to a solid vet that would be good or if there is a player that Danny feels will absolutely become a star at one of those picks, he may feel he has to make the pick. If he can't trade them, it might be good to make some draft and stash picks. We really don't need more rookies.
It's hard to tell what will put us over the top. I agree we are very close and should do what it takes to win now.

Trouble is, I can't see how'd they do it, or who'd they target. You would have to pair those pick(s) with another contract make it work cap-wise, and i struggle to see how they'd make it work. also, i don't think the value of these picks would net you anyone of worth. Gay, for example, is shot. He looked absolutely spent with the Spurs this year. Wouldn't be shocked if he's out of the league.
I'm hoping they can either flip a pick for a future first, or perhaps combine those two firsts for a slightly earlier first. Like maybe 26 and 30 for the 21st pick and a future 2nd rounder.

You are right Fresh. I can't see right off anyone that we could get by trading the picks who could help. But I also can't see bringing in 3 more rookies. Maybe the draft and stash route might be the right one. Or as you mentioned maybe trade them for a future pick. But I don't see bringing on 3 more rookies.

There are guys that I like in this draft, and would be excited to pick. Maybe if we package a couple of our picks to move up from 17 to maybe 14?
Draft and stash is also another option.

One rookie, possibly a lottery pick wouldn't be so bad so maybe packaging the 3 picks to move up might be a good move.

I'd like to see us trade one or two picks for a 2022 pick, a "double draft" year so to speak, because it'll be the first to include guys right out of HS again. From what I read, most don't feel this is a very strong year anyway.
Don't we have a mid-level exemption spot available this year if we want to add a vet bench player?

Lots of good players, but lacking great ones. But I feel we can find a diamond in the rough like a Pascal Siakam or a Kawhi Leonard, or even Paul George.
