Assuming Russell and Bird are the top 2 Celtics in some order who is the 3rd best Celtic player? I said "player" specifically so people don't try to pick Red or someone like Tommy based on his other Celtics careers. Player must have played some significant portion of his prime with Celts. So KG and DJ are options. Shaq and Bill Walton are not.

i went with Hondo, but I seriously considered cousy. it's the pits how little footage of the nba there is prior to 1980. think of how many amazing passes cousy made that have been lost to time.
I made a terrible mistake not adding KC Jones to this list. KC Jones is one of only 4 people with 8 rings (all 4 are Celtics). However. He also has two NCAA championship rings (like Bill Russell) and an Olympic gold (like Bill Russell) and has two NBA rings as coach (like Russell). Tommy has no Olympic gold but has a case to be made for an NCAA ring and has two NBA rings as a coach.

Agreed, just seeing some clips makes me realize how recency bias is easy.

Since Dino Radja wasn’t a choice, I went with Hondo. A complete player, and a great human being.
