I'm hearing it's not completely impossible to have some playoffs in the summer but multiple things have to align. One is widespread affordable fast reliable testing. It seems maybe possible this could be available by June. I personally think another needed thing is meds that give you a decent chance if you get sick. It would also be nice if the summer chased away the disease and we were seeing few cases. The odds of all this happening seem a little low to me. It would so great if we could twirk an existing antiviral so it could be used to help dampen the severity of covid-19. I think that would be about the only way things will come back to anything remotely resembling normal this summer.

There was some good news today, which was that the US projected deaths went down from about 85K to about 60K. Not to be insensitive but that's not thhhhaaaaaaatttt bad. Annual car crash deaths is about 35K.

If they finish this season, it will affect next season and possibly others. If next season starts in December then they have to either shorten the season or it, too, will run into August and that will affect the following season etc. I don't know what the answer is. If they just chalk this season up to a loss then perhaps next season can start on time and we can go from there with next season starting on time. Or maybe seasons will change from here on out and they will start in December every year. It's a tough choice to make.

I’m ok with a shorter 2021 season. Cut out 2 months.
