Maybe because he’s such a nice guy, maybe because he chose us over other teams in free agency, maybe because he’s such a good player and teammate — whatever the case may be, I’m not keen on trading Gordon Hayward. But if trading him means a better shot at a title (or three), then I’ll have to put my feelings aside, and get onboard with what’s right for the team.
Now, how would trading Gordon be better for the team? I can’t be certain but I’ve read that Jayson and Jaylen both play better, and we’ve had success when Kemba or Hayward were out and we’ve had to ask the Jays to step up. Also, if trading Hayward could net us a big who fits in with Brad’s system, and is a clear upgrade over Theis, then it would a worthwhile trade.
One trade I read this morning is Hayward to Indiana for Myles Turner and Jeremy Lamb. Turner is a mobile big who can hit threes, block shots, rebound, and switch on smaller players defensively. And Lamb is a nice scorer (plus a UCONN guy, who will make Kemba and RoadRunner happy).
And Hayward would be going home to IND, so I wouldn’t feel bad.
I’m open to other trades, as long as it makes sense. But I’m 90% for keeping Hayward.

Lamb played on one of UCONNs National title teams, and Kemba played on another. Can Khalid El-Amin be thrown in, because he was the PG on another? If BOS is going to trade Hayward, then he has to be for something they do not have. However, Hayward is playing very well this year. Uber efficient. Personally, I want Hayward attempting more shots than Tatum.

GH just seems overly deferential. If he played freely, aggressively, I think he'd be more valuable to us.

Golden State was/is truly the model for moving and passing. Not only do they have tremendous players, but those star players know how to pass and are really smart. We just aren’t on that level.

I seem to remember a game where Klay scored a ton of points and barely dribbled at all. OK, found it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=okLnXZhHPPc60 pts on ELEVEN dribbles. More like that from JT please.

That’s exactly the kind of player Brad needs.

Assists is usually correlated by good ball movement.

I'm done with GH. I don't want players that smile while down by 12. I'd do GH for Myles T and Lamb in a heart beat, but I don' think Indy would ever do it. Indy might might miiiighhhtt get talked into in because GH is and Indiana guy who might agree to resign long term at a cap friendly deal. They have other good bigs and Oladipo coming back so maybe they'd think about it. I think we'd have to toss in a decent draft pick or two

AS I was watching the highlights of the LA game today, I realized that Hayward is the most important Celtic. When he has a solid game, it bodes well for BOS.

Hayward’s strength (one of many) is his ability to fascilitate — that’s what made him an All-Star in Utah. But here, we have guys who also deserve to have the offense run through — Kemba and Tatum (JB is not quite there yet). And Tatum is the guy we are grooming to be the face of the franchise, and the offense will eventual go through him.
Hayward will probably be ok with it, but he might need to be the 3-D guy more often, and let Tatum be the orchestrator.

A lot of people forget that Carmelo was great entering the league as a true freshman out of college. Now, the wildcard is that I also think Tatum is more coach-able than Carmelo. I thought Carmelo left a lot on the table, because he was either lazy or stubborn.

After missing a late layup that could have eventually led to a victory against the Suns (in which he seemed embarrassed for not dunking it), Hayward has looked more aggressive the last 2 games.

I'd trade him for Zion. But the Pels would have to add in more players to make salaries match.
