I forgot who me tioned it here, but it’s now being reported that we’ve called Washington to see about Davis Bertans.
6’10” with solid mobility and an even better 3 point shot, Bertans is a guy Ainge might try to bring here cause we can’t have enough 3pt shooters (and I’m not being sarcastic).
He only makes 7 mil, and is a free agent after this season. Washington won’t get much in return, being that his salary is so low, and teams won’t have control of him beyond this summer.
Who and what is Ainge willing to give up for Bertans? Would he part with a first round pick, and say Carsen Edwards or Brad Wanamaker?

I'd trade our pick, likely to be very late first round, but I think it would take multiple players to match salary, and I don't know we want to do that.

I think Semi has nearly lost his future with the team with the emergence of GWill. Tremont is probably going to take away Wanamaker’s backup PG role, as well as Carsen’s 3pt bomber role.
Putting emotional ties for these guys aside, any combination of these guys (you can add Poirier to this group) plus a pick is what I’m willing to offer for Bertans.

Those were the same guys I was thinking of, except maybe Wanamaker. I think Waters will be fine, but maybe not this season. I agree that Poirier, Semi and Edwards are expendable.
