There's been a lot of talk about how Embiid and Simmons don't really fit all that well together. Simmons game is almost entirely open court, while Embiid's game is half court. Both stink in the other's preferred mode of play.
I'm not an Embiid fan, but to me he shows a lot more heart than Simmons. I caught the end of the Sixers game in Orlando yesterday. Simmons was inbounding the ball down 3 with under a minute to go. His pass was intercepted, which was bad enough, but he just stood there and watched as the play moved down the court. He was passed by literally every one of his teammates, having quit on the play. He's been in the league for 4 years, sitting the first year out with an injury (read "tanking") and still can't hit a shot outside the paint. He's a unique player and has some strong skills, but I think if the Sixers don't have a strong post-season they will trade him for someone who fits with Embiid better.

Like I mentioned previously, a guy I know is a die hard Sixers fan, and he tells me the fan base want Simmons gone. They are tired of his negligence to shoot the ball.

It certainly makes it easier to double Embiid when Simmons's man can essentially ignore him if he's outside. I REALLY don't want the Sixers' multi-year tanking process to EVER yield a title, and there's something I just don't like about Simmons.

Yup, his smug “I know I’m great”’attitude rubs me the wrong way.
I wonder how much Elton Brand is attached to these star players he inherited.
