Grant Williams looked comfortable and assertive against the Pistons, and that was a bad thing for Detroit because he didn’t think twice about attacking the basket and taking open shots. Was this the turning point of this rookie’s season? Could be. GWill might now realize he’s more valuable to his team when he’s aggressively looking to score when opportunities appear. His instinct is to first move the ball and look for someone to get a better shot — but he’s figuring out sometimes he IS the best option, and that he should capitalize on those situations. Big difference. m.youtube.com/watch?v=3yzYELMPvAc

Question: will GWill exceed his career high of 18 pts this season?

Love Grant Williams. Was jazzed when the C's grabbed him. Dude's strength is elite level. Brook Lopez is a brute, and he can barely move Williams. He could be a valuable piece for this team for a long time.

There are only 4 people left on the Grant Williams train, and half of them are wondering if they should get off too.
I’m still on and don’t plan to get off unless Danny trades him away.
GWill, plain and simple, has to find his niche, find what ways he can contribute to the team’s success. And I’m confident he will. It might take time to find it, but he will. He and Brad will figure something out.

Unfortunately, being smart only takes you so far if you're too slow to guard wings and too small to guard bigs. If he became a knockdown, let's say 45%, 3 pt shooter, he has a small role. Otherwise I don't see it. Hope I'm wrong.

And then use his passing ability.

Can you see him as a Top 8 playoff rotation player on a title team? To me that would mean he'd be the first big off the bench.

Can you see him as a Top 8 playoff rotation player on a title team? To me that would mean he'd be the first big off the bench. I do. But he has to be given time to develop. With Grant, his mind is his biggest asset. It allows him to think and see plays ahead of time. But to get to that point, he needs experience. Like Nate Robinson who was knocked out cold in his boxing match, he was overmatched mainly because he’s not experienced. But I do believe Grant has the ingredients to be a valuable key rotation player.
