Today was media day and it was fun watching all the interviews. Practice starts tomorrow and the first game is Sunday. I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for some Celtics basketball.
I love the personalities on this team. Kemba seems like the anti-Kyrie. Jayson seems to be maturing. Kanter will be a glue guy and keep things light. The rookies all seem like great guys and hard workers. I just love Carsen Edwards. I think he will contribute right away as an energy guy off the bench. Marcus Smart is still my favorite though. Brad thinks that this team can be very good defensively and that's good news. Everybody seems to be healthy and ready to go on day 1. Taco seems to be a favorite of all of his teammates and also of the fans. I would really like to see him take that 15th spot on the team. It would be great for public relations if nothing else. If they let him go, I'm pretty sure another team will scoop him up.

Yeah, I enjoy the personalities on this team as well. A welcomed change of attitude from last year’s team.
Adding Kemba Walker and Grant Williams, and subtracting Kyrie’s personality is making a huge difference chemistry-wise.

In an interview done by Danny for WBUR, he said that we have a lot of good wings, and are not so secure at the 4 and 5 (his hope is that our newly acquired bigs and perform as good as we hope).
I’m feeling good about Kanter bringing us scoring and rebounding help, and doing a decent job defensively. My hope is that Grant Williams earns big minutes, and Robert Williams takes a step forward in his development.

I hope maybe Theis can do just a little more and stay a tad more healthy as well.

Poirier was knocking down 3s comfortably in practice. Didn’t know he could do that.

Poirier was knocking down 3s comfortably in practice. Didn’t know he could do that. He is very similar to Al on offense, plus supposedly a lot better rebounder. My hope is that he improves and eventually makes Kanter the backup center. I think we have a chance to be a really good rebounding team for the first time during Brad's tenure, especially on the offensive end. My only worry is defending the big guys, that is the one issue that can end our season. I think we can excel at every other aspect of the game. Or we can trade Brown as the centerpiece for a package for Blake Griffin as I just read after typing this post. For me it would depend on who the other "young guys" were. www.inquisitr.com/5670458/blake-griffin-jaylen-brown-celtics-pistons-blockbuster-trade/

Now at OKC's media day, Steven Adams is openly talking about getting traded, I really think that is the guy we need to trade for. I love Jaylen's potential, but if him plus picks gets us Adams and puts Kanter on the bench just as they were in together in OKC, I think we are vastly a vastly improved team that can win it all if healthy. Adams would be a huge improvement at the five over Al, and getting rid of "the guy that shall not be mentioned" as the C's put it on their media day when talking about the cancer who resides in Brooklyn. The replacements give us great chemistry along with great talent, that is a team that would be really fun to watch and root for with not many flaws.

I’d consider that trade, for a few reasons.
- I don’t want to overspend to keep Jaylen here. We are already paying Hayward big bucks, and Tatum’s new contract will be coming up soon. At some point, one of these 3 will need to end up on the bench, and Jaylen is the 3rd banana in this trio. - We would do well to beef up our frontcourt. I like Enes, but we need more. Theis, Poirier and Robert will need to prove they can play at a championship level before I feel confident in them. Getting a big of Steven Adam’s caliber will be a big help. - With what’s being said of Romeo (Brad and some players said he has the feel for the game that is above the level of a usual rookie, that he has a good body, can defend, and he steps up his game in game situations), I feel Romeo can replace Jaylen in the not so distant future (maybe in a year or two).

I wouldn’t think Brad would employ this lineup often, since both are lane cloggers (post up big men) and will keep opposing big men near the paint.

I think these guys should at least play together a little bit because to me each one is too good to not be a starter. I would think they should have to play together at least 10 - 15 mins a night. Indy seemed to have similar problems with Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis, but largely it is solved and they'll start next to each other. I assume they both worked on their shooting a bit and moved their range out some

Myles Turner can hit 3’s, so that allows him to be used with Sabonis.
I wonder if Brad will have Kanter shoot more 3’s than he had been asked to at his previous stops? To my eyes, he looks capable of knocking down them down comfortably.
