First of all, I thought we already did it a few years ago. Secondly, I don’t know what changes this will mean now that we wholly own our G-League team.
Maybe high schoolers who don’t want to go to college this year can sign with our team, giving us a real close look at prospects we’re interested in? And this is beneficial for only this year cause from next summer (or is it the summer after?), high schoolers can once again make the jump straight to the NBA.

I am with you too, because I thought BOS already owned the team. I read a source that said BOS is the full owner now, which indicated they had partial ownership before.

The Celtics originally shared the Red Claws roster with another NBA team (can't remember who). Then in 2012 the C's became the sole NBA team affiliated with the Red Claws. I don't believe the Celtics had an ownership stake before today's announcement, however.

I wonder what the cost of owning a g-league team is? I am thinking, without factual data, that if one player improved (say non rotation to rotation), that the cost pays for itself.
