Looks like we targeted players from Brad Stevens' backyard. First was Romeo Langford, who grew up in Indiana (and went to IU), and then with our second round pick, we drafted Carsen Edwards from Purdue.
What we get in Edwards is a gritty 6 foot dynamite who has a powerful body, a quick shooting trigger, and a fearless nature. I wouldn't call him a natural PG, but due to his size, that's the only place we can play him. But now that we have a healthy Hayward back, and a newly drafted Romeo Langford, along Jayson Tatum, we have 3 wings who are capable of initiating the offense, leaving Carsen Edwards to do what he does best -- score the ball. He averaged 24 ppg on a team that went to the Final Four.
Watching Patty Mills and now Fred Vanvleet do damage on championship teams, I'm hoping Carsen Edwards can be a positive player for us, in spite of not being tall and athletic.

Vinnie Johnson? A guy who can come off the bench, heat up quickly and score in bunches? And Danny gave VJ the nickname The Microwave.

I initially missed this thread, but I think he was as good as a pick as you'll get in the 2nd round. Definitely has fun highlights.

How long before Carsen Edwards cracks the rotation and begins knocking down bombs regularly?

I think both Edwards and Langford get playing time early to break him in and get him comfortable with NBA speed. The reason is if Brown ends up starting then we don't have anyone who is proven to score of the bench. The last thing I want is Smart coming off the bench thinking that he has to carry the offense.

So far I've only seen him vs college and summer league competition, but based on that I could see him in the rotation almost immediately.

I think he plays quickly because Brad will be trying to get the non sissies on the court.

He's the most likely to play immediately in the NBA 2nd round pick we've had since Ryan Gomes. Guy's a lightning rod of energy/offense. Anything can happen when he's up against NBA competition, but I hope he can shine at what he does best.

Brad, it’s unanimous. We all think Carsen should play right away. You’ve got the board’s approval 👍
We all know he can shoot from way deep, even without much daylight. But what’s incredible about Carsen is his fearlessness. This guy has no conscience (in a good way).
He’ll be knocking down 3s from the getgo, and Brad will see no choice but to play him. He’s going to feed energy into the guys whenever he steps onto the court.
