Call me surprised that Smart shot 36% from threes this season. Didn’t think he’d come close to that, honestly. His shot was more compact than ever before, he avoided taking rushed and off-balance 3s, and he pick and chose when to shoot them (unlike in the past, when he thought about shooting it every time the ball ended up in his hands).
I’m sure he’s going to work tirelessly on his shooting again this summer.
Is it beyond hope that he can reach 38% next season? Cause that’ll be huge if he does. I’m anticipating Hayward and Tatum (and Horford) to do the bulk of the facilitating, so Smart and Jaylen will be counted on to spot up and knock down kickout threes when they come.
With his leadership, defense and hustle, that 38% will make him hard to keep out of the lineup.

Smart shot a lot better, both his form and his results, than ever before, but I'll disagree about his improved shot selection. IMO it was still terrible. He still plays like he's Curry and chucks up shots he has no business hoisting. Not a good enough passer to play PG. Not a good enough shooter to play SG. I'd move him.

I am with Jmost, he needs to be part of a trade to get an upgrade somewhere on the team, whether that is Capella or Beal doesn't matter to me. I am done with watching him shoot a 30 foot 3 pointer with 20 seconds left on the shot clock.
