Alright, now that our fascination with Anthony Davis is over, it's time to move on to the next plan on my list.
Go HARD after Kawhi Leonard. I can't see how he goes to the Clippers now, when sharing the same arena is Lebron and AD. Kawhi claims that he wants to win -- well he ain't going to win with what the Clippers have.
Re-sign Kyrie. Now that KD is injured, and AD is with Lebron, I see no way Kyrie goes to Brooklyn all by himself, when he can play with Kawhi and also make a whole lot more money staying in BOS.
Next, trade a portion of the youth for Clint Capela.
So now we put out there:
Kyrie Haywayrd Kawhi Horford Capela
Kyrie wanted more veteran players, and he'll get them with this plan. And each of these guys (aside from Capela) are high IQ players who can pass and score.

The Clippers are about to get their own stadium. So they won't be little brother anymore in the Staples Center.
IMO the Clippers are still in better shape than the Fakers, LeFlop is old, AD is also injury prone and their front office is a mess as is their coaching staff.

Ok, but he'll still be in Los Angeles, and the Clippers are almost always going to be the Laker's little brother (the Lakers' name brand is far more glamorous than the Clippers'). If Kawhi is serious that he wants to win, then he ought to stay away from LA. And if he can win with Siakam, Lowry and Vanvleet, I'm sure playing alongside proven All-Stars Kyrie, Hayward and Horford will appeal to him.

How would we have the money to sign Keahi? Wouldn't we have to trade for him?

How would we have the money to sign Keahi? Wouldn't we have to trade for him? Yeah, maybe that's how to do it. The offer we had for Anthony Davis, we just present it to TOR and see if they want to do a sign-and-trade. At least they won't be losing Kawhi for nothing.

Smart, Brown, picks and filler for Kawhi? I don't see that happening.
At this point I think the likeliest scenario is, with or without Kyrie, we bring back basically the same team, draft as well as possible and keep our eyes open for opportunities. I'm skeptical of being able to trade quantity for quality.
My eyes are turning to the draft.

You could lose me for nothing, or you can get an All-NBA Defensive 1st teamer (Smart), a young 22 year old who is a good 3-D guy right now with potential to be more, and maybe draft picks".

As much as I would LOVE to get Leonard, I do not see him leaving Toronto for another Eastern team. Either he loves LA so much he goes to the Clippers or he stays where he just won a Championship and can be paid more money. They also managed his injury and playing time well, so I do not see him leaving absent an obsession with going out to LA.

I guess with hindsight being 20/20 we should have added Brown in the package for Kwahi last offseason. If we did then we may be holding onto [HASH]18 with Kwahi resigning while also keeping Kyrie. Danny understandably wanted to keep all of his trade pieces for AD, but to be fair that was before AD signed with LeFlop's lapdog of an agent and pretty much gave Boston the middle finger.

Al officially opted out of his contract to get a 3 year deal with Boston at a lower price that will give us the full midlevel 9.3M and 3.6M bi-annual in FA. We get that even if we resign Rozier. The next names that are being rumored are Beal and Conley. Washington wants to include the terrible Wall trade with Beale, but a package of Brown, Smart and draft picks has apparently been offered.
It is looking like Danny is trying to trade one of Tatum or Brown to make room for Gordon. IDK how I feel about that one yet.

Al is just a great human being, period. If he wants to coach someday, or be in the fromt office, I hope we accomodate the guy.
Let’s see what we can do with the money we’ll be freeing up. I hear we’re getting the full MLE?
