Horford's a professional through and through, and one of the nicest gentlemen you'll ever see in sports. And to top it off, he's a terrific basketball player who plays the right way and is a coach's dream.
So why think about trading him away?
Because the opportunity to get a (another) superstar could be presenting itself, and you don't want to miss your opportunity when it comes knocking on your door. It is widely speculated that KD wants to leave Golden State, whether they win a title this year or not. If so, rather than lose him for nothing, Bob Myers will want to trade him for good value.
You might argue that the Center spot is the only position that the Warriors aren't strong at -- DeMarcus Cousins has returned, as is quite a talent, but he doesn't fit in to GSW's system as well as Al Horford would. Big Al will kill in that lineup, with a whole cast of smart and unselfish players making the right pass and executing the right play.
So Horford gets a really good chance to win a title with Golden State (Ainge puts Horford in a good situation), and we land Kevin Durant -- the 3rd part of the Big 3 with Kyrie and Anthony Davis (whom we gave up Tatum and Jaylen to acquire).
Aron Baynes will likely re-sign with us and will be our starting 5. And Hayward rounds out the starting lineup

I think we can do lots of damage with that lineup.
