Even when Rozier was having a good run (last year's playoffs) he was pretty inefficient - 41% from field, 35% from 3. Doesn't mean he can't affect the game well as we saw his energy, defense, and swagger really help us last year. However, I'd take consistency and efficiency over a guy who can be so streaky unless that streaky person can accept a bench role (ala Jamal Crawford).

Rozier had a career playoffs last year, and he was NBA average. He returned to his career percentages this year's playoffs, which was below the NBA average.

Hey, have you seen what Rozier has been doing in the last four games? It's only 4 games, so a small sample size, but if this is what he is now, boy, it gets you thinking about what could have been. Four straight games over 30 points on fantastic shooting. www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3074752/terry-rozierAs you recall, Rozier was unhappy with his role, when, a year after he was lead PG in the playoff run to the ECF vs CLE, he was relegated back to the bench behind Kyrie, who we had traded IT for. I can't say I blame him for leaving to have a starting role. I get why Danny traded IT for Kyrie because it made sense on paper. Unfortunately Kyrie turned out to be a huge mistake, ruining that season and then leaving. In hindsight we would have been much better off just matching Charlotte's offer to Rozier. He's costing $20 million less than Kemba, is healthier, younger and fits the timeline with Brown and Tatum better. It also tells me that we need to be patient with some players before they blossom. Especially if they show some talent and have the physical skills to compete. Let's not write off Romeo and Nesmith too soon.

Yeah he's looking like he may earn that deal. But at the time, I thought CHA was crazy to give him that deal.

Same. His shooting %s skyrocketed. I'm not sure he'll keep that level (46% from 3!), but he's looking to be on the right track right now. Though, I couldn't imagine a year watching Rozier and Smart taking all the shots and shooting 30% from the field.
To be fair to Ainge, I think Kyrie and Kemba were good gambles/moves that would've really paid off in big ways and probably would take them 9 out of 10 times. Unfortunately, neither have panned out at all.

The Cleveland trade ended up as a wash and it looks like Danny was fleeced in the trade with Charlotte.

The other thing we lost in the Kyrie trade was the [HASH]8 pick, which turned out to be Sexton, although Danny might have picked someone else, or traded the pick for someone else. Kyrie really F'd things up for us.

I'm not saying Rozier has character issues, or trying to judge him. I never met him. It's just that he's one of Pitino's Louisville guys and I've always had a hard time getting past that
