Tomorrow, we will find out where Memphis, and Sacramento end up slotted in the draft order, and that's big news for us since we potentially own their picks in this year's draft. If Memphis picks after 8, then we will receive it. If Sacramento makes a major jump (they have a microscopic shot at a top 4 pick), as long as it isn't the first pick, we'll get it. If they stay put, we'll get the 14th.
Once the order is established, we can get into actual draft talk.

If they don't call Sacramento with the 14th pick, we'll know they've moved into the top 4.
At that point I'll be really nervous because, as much as I want our pick to be as high as possible, the possibility that Philly winds up with Zion is scary. All things considered I guess I'd be happy with a 3 out of 4 (roughly) chance at a 2,3 or 4 pick, but I'd still be sweating it out.

And if we don’t hear SAC called at 14, it means Memphis gets pushed back, and se get their pick. That is a scary thought that Philly has a chance to get the first pick.

Assistant GM, Mike Zarren, will be in the back room tonight, as President, Rich Gotham, will be on stage.

Pelicans get the 1st pick, and I think that’s good. Folks are wondering if getting Zion will entice Anthony Davis to stay — I don’t. I think AD wants to contend now, and even with Zion, who is no guarantee to play like an All-Star in year 1, NOR still needs more.
If anything, getting the 1st pick will make it easier for Grffin to trade Davis. Griffin knows he can rebuild around Zion, so now he can look for high potential young players in trades (and we have some to dangle).

I don't know how to read this. Did AD ask for a trade because he saw the Pelicans going nowhere? Well, that probably isn't true anymore. After next season they'll have only AD, Jrue Holiday and presumably Zion W on the books - which means they could sign another superstar. It wouldn't surprise me if he stays.
Aside from that, we wound up where we figured we would. Once it was down to 4 teams I was sweating that the Lakers would get the [HASH]1, so at least we dodged that.

Excellent pointd. We’ll see if AD wants to stay, and who Griffin can lure in.

Memphis got a real good deal with the second pick.

Apparently, according to Shams Charania, Davis’ stance remains the same, even after NOR winning the 1st pick. There you go. Hope is still alive.

Well, I really liked the modifications made to the lottery. The MEM selection rolled over, which was great. The SAC selection is what it is.

I liked them too. More exciting, but more importantly, greatly reduces the temptation to tank, because the payoff is so much less certain.
I'm already into the mock drafts and watching the (highly deceptive) highlight reel videos of possible Celtic draftees. I don't know why I do it, but I always do.

I was reminded of the folly of highlight videos when I watched Rozier’s highlights from this past year and thought he was pretty good.
