Memphis is currently the 7th worst team. If their draft pick is outside of the top 8, they forfeit it over to us. Next year, it'll be top 6 protected, and the following year it'll be unprotected.
If you were the Grizzlies, wouldn't you rather give us the pick this year? I mean, you're bad already, and will probably be bad the next few years. Give us the pick this summer, and then get started on the rebuild by getting high draft picks.
Otherwise, there's a great possibility that you'll forfeit an even better pick to me next year, or the year after that, when it could be the [HASH]1.
