Okay, we all know that Ainge will probably make a trade at least by the deadline. I believe he has a made at least one trade every year by the deadline since he has been here. (e.g. Atkins trade, Walker trade)
Do you think Ainge will make a trade this year by the deadline, and what position will he look to upgrade? What players on our current squad would he probably give up in the trade?
I think if the right player is available he may try to upgrade the point guard position. If he does, I think it will be a blockbuster. He will not settle for a quick fix, or make a minor move. I think he rather keep Delonte then, but if an offer is on the table for an elite point guard, he will pull the trigger.
More than likely, I think he will try somehow to trade either Blount, or Raef/picks for salary relief and open up more PT for the youngen's. I do not think Banks will get traded unless for that elite point guard, or for another already established young player. What do you guys think?

I think he is going to try to find a veteran PG first of all. We could use some veteran leadership in that position. We need a good big man also and he may try to package Blount or Raef and Banks and/or Allen to get both in a blockbuster with several teams. I am hoping he is showcasing Blount and Raef and not just being stupid about playing Perk.

Likewise, I agree with you guys/gals that we need an upgrade upfront. But the PG situation is tricky (I'll get to that later).
I am not excited about Blount and Raef being our veteran bigs. Blount is Blount--a serviceable scoring 7 footer who adds little value anywhere else. He plays well when he feels good about himself (which usually happens when he scores a few buckets early in the game) and plays lethargically when he feels like a loner. Raef isn't so bad, but he's limited athleticially. He had more quickness and agility prior to the knee operation (when he used to be among the best shotblockers in the league), but now, he's a guy who can do damage only when the play is near him.
Neither guy puts confidence in my heart when they step out onto the court. I need to feel confident that whoever we put out onto the court can impact the boards, or at least secure more rebounds than they give up.
Who we can get is beyond me. I like PJ Brown, but I hear he's happy with the Hornets and doesn't plan on leaving.
As for the PG spot, I'm not sure what our future holds. Delonte is a nice all around PG who does a bit of everything. But he's not a guy who can set up our players for better scoring opportunities. And this is where we tend to struggle offensively. A lot of of points are hard earned. Nothing comes easily. There are times when the offense clicks and the ball moves around the court well and the scoring just flows nicely. But a PG who can create plays for others will be a big time benefit for this team which has (will have) a lot of terrific scorers (Pierce, Ricky, Jefferson, Green).
If Ainge finds the opportuntiy to land a big time PG (Baron Davis, TJ Ford, Chris Paul), he'll have to let go of one of our young PG's, whether it be Delonte or Banks.

More Rebounding in the frontcourt and possibly upgrade the PG position.
