I can't believe this is the first time all season that the celts have actually won two games in a row. Hopefully, they can put together a string of wins together next week.
Delonte had an impressive game tonight spreading the stat sheet. 15points, 7brds, 5asst, 3 or 4 blocks, and a couple steals.
Another observation I had of the game tonight is how much improved Al is in finishing his moves underneath the basket. He is so deceptively quick and crafty in the low block. Last year he was getting by with sheer athleticism, but now it seems as if he has learned different ways to get his shot off, whether he spins, head fakes, jab steps. He has a vast array of post moves.
I do not like it that people tout him "this and that" and put so much pressure the guy. He seems to be handling it well, but he is still only 20 years old, but if he keeps working hard, he will be a good one for sure. He played well tonight again per 48/min.
I think he will be starting sometime this year. He is the perfect third option to Paul and Ricky. We need to really utilize his skills down low and play the high low game a little more.
Overall nice win. Hopefully we can make it 3 in a row the day after Christmas.

I probably should have posted this in the game thread. Oh well. My fault.

Yeah, I'm glad we were finally able to get our back to back wins out of the way. Its disturbing that only after 25 games were we able to get consecutive wins. Hopefully this will get the monkey off our back.
I agree that Jefferson does look more efficient in the blocks now. His up and under move is developing and he's learning how to get off his shot in different ways. He's making good use of his pump fakes too.
As for Delonte and his 15 - 7 - 5 - 3 - 2 performance, this is where he separates himself from Banks. Banks is a much better athlete as well as being more exciting, but as for contributing in all facets of the game, Delonte seems to be better at it.

Yeah Derren, Delonte is more all around than Banks. I wish he could put up numbers like he did last night almost every night.
If our point guard averaged 15 pts, 6 asst, 5 brds a game, I do not think anyone would be complaining. He has to be more consistent though.
I really do not prefer one over the other. I like both players. Whoever produces should play. It is that simple. If Banks is playing well, start him. If Delonte beats hm out fair and square, and outplays him, then start Delonte.
Either way, West is a Doc favorite, and Banks seems to always get barked at so we shall see.

I probably should have posted this in the game thread. Oh well. My fault. Well worth its own thread Esco... Matter of fact, when we make it three, I would like to see you start another. I tend to see this streak as a Christmas gift to us Celt fans in need. ;D

Yes, this was definitely a nice Christmas gift from the Celts. It will hopefully give them a little boost going into this road trip. I am hoping that they build from here and go on a real streak.

I sort of wish we didn't have such a big layoff in between our last game and the upcoming one. We played well vs. the Warriors and the Jazz (currently a combined 25 - 27 record) and the confidence we are gaining would have served us real nicely if we played tonight.
Ricky is starting to find his shot again. I think he's still thinking about his mechanics too much. But it is improving.
