I really shouldn't be this interested in this year's draft cause we do not have a high pick. Unless somehow the unbelievable happens and Sacramento gets the [HASH]2 pick (which could happen if they don't make the playoffs, and the ping pong balls fall their way), we're not sniffing a top 3 pick.
But since there's the possibility of us having 4 first round picks (Memphis's, if it's not top 8, Sacramento's, the Clippers', if it's not a lottery pick, and our own), I'm spending time looking at prospects, cause you never know who's going to fall down the ladder. Last year, no one thought Robert Williams would slide that far down, and sure enough he landed at our doorstep.
I'm going to assume the Memphis pick will not convey this year. They've got a bunch of games at the end of the season that are tough (GSW twice, the Rockets, Blazers, the Thunder, the Clippers). So we move onto the next pick.
With 12 games to go before the season ends, Sacramento sits just outside of the lottery, right around the 14th pick. If they go on a losing streak, and teams below them start winning a few more, the SAC pick could end up being the 12th or 11th (again, with a very slim chance of it being a top 3). I can see some nice players with upside being available there.
Goga Bitazde -- Center with size, coordination, translatable skills, and physicality
De'Andre Hunter -- Wing who plays defense, and has a role as an efficient complementary scorer (a Richard Jefferson type during his Nets' days)
Bol Bol --Might slide due to his stress fracture in his foot. Height and length, with good shooting stroke.
Jontay Porter -- All around game for a 6'10" big. Think Raef LaFrentz.
Nassir Little -- SG with a meanstreak. Think of a taller Marcus Smart who is built more like a wing.
Romeo Langford -- Highly skilled wing, just without the explosiveness to be an upper tier player.
