I want to see this big man in action. From the sounds of it, he's getting better and better. In his most recent games, he looks like a very promising young Center.
Good height and length for an NBA Center. I'd say he's fairly athletic and agile (just a tad less than Nikola Jokic). His finishes around the rim show he's experienced playing close to the basket, and comfortable working there. Seen some clips of him power dribbling down the lane and quickly pulling up for a jumper like a wing player. And he's also a capable three point shooter.
Offensively, I think he should be at least better than Tyler Zeller, and I think by a substantial amount.
Defensively, he's more willing and aggressive a shot blocker than Zeller. Great hands for eating up rebounds. But where he might struggle is on switches onto smaller players. He's actually a willing defender, and gives it a good effort (he squats down low and gets into squared up ready for the challenge). He's just not quite able to swivel his hips quick enough to stay with smaller players.
But overall, from what I'm seeing, he's definitely one of the better Center prospects in this draft. Next to Bol Bol, I have Bitazde and Jaxson Hayes as guys I'd take next.
