DeAndre Hunter will probably not be drafted in the top 7 because he is not an elite prospect. (**I've had to edit this post because Hunter is impressing me more and more). He doesn’t grade as a sure fire future All-Star. But I really like this guy’s solid all around game. At 6’7”-6’8” with a listed 7’ wingspan, along to go with a strong build and NBA level athleticism, he has a body for the pros. As for his game, he seems to have an idea of how to attack and how he’s going to finish. In a few words, I’d say he’s efficient, without too much wasted motion. Same goes for his shooting form, no wasted motion. And with his feet set or on the move, he looks comfortable shooting the ball.
Plays tough defense as well.
I can see Hunter being the kind of player San Antonio would quickly snag up.

This guy is rising to the top of my draft board. I’d take Hunter ahead of Barrett and Reddish, and not think twice.

Well we’ll never have a shot at Hunter now (not after the way he played in the NCAA championship game!).
Interesting thing is I don’t see him as an All-Star, more as a superb role player and glue guy. But yet I’d take him top 5.

I'm reconsidering my above statement. I think he has All-Star caliber traits that may parlay in the NBA. His floor is a superb role player (Shane Battier, Richard Jefferson type), but his ceiling could be quite high (Kawhi-lite).
I'm thinking for sure he's a top 5 pick. Would love to get him somehow.

I'm pretty fired up about Deandre Hunter. So much so that I'd move Jaylen Brown somehow to secure Hunter. I'm thinking Hunter will go anywhere between 4 - 7. If he gets past the Lakers (4), and the Cavs (5), I'll try to see what Phoenix wants for that pick (they are shopping that pick for veterans).
Hunter plays excellent defense, but what splits the line between Hunter and Jaylen is their offensive game. Deandre has a more efficient offensive game that flows with the team concept, while Jaylen can be methodical and unsure of what to do with the ball, and is more prone to isolation ball.
