Mike Gorman was on 98.5, and he said something that caught my attention because maybe I didn’t think he’d say that sort of thing. In essence he said some of the young guys think they have a switch they can flip (speaking of ajaylen and Rozier) — but that they’re too young and inexperienced to even know where the switch is. He said sometimes they think they’re playing hard when they’re not playing hard.
That’s exactly my take on both of them. Both are capable of having big nights, when they are engaged and attacking, and you can see it in their demeanor that they’re all business. But both are also prone to coast, or not be mentally engaged at times. I think this is what Kyrie was alluding to (and probably what Morris was aiming at) a couple of weeks ago.

If Kyrie is ball dominant and keeps chucking threes and doesn't pass to young guys he's just wrong

If Kyrie is ball dominant and keeps chucking threes and doesn't pass to young guys he's just wrong No question that Kyrie needs to tone down his hero ball (though when he catches fire, you go to the hot hand). But what Gorman says is true — I don’t get the sense that Rozier and Jaylen are tuned in all the time. Sometimes they’ll want to showboat, or play cool hand Luke, giving the impression that they’re better than their competition. I don’t think they’ve earned that reputation yet. They don’t have that switch they can turn on and off. At their status, they need to be locked in and ready to make the right play.

Rozier does a nice job of assisting teammates, however it seems it only happens when Kyrie is out. When Kyrie is in, he elects to shoot first.

When he’s right, he’ll put up 20 and energize the team. But when his shots aren’t falling, and when he’s dribbling too much, and not making the right reads when guys are cutting and getting open, then I’m shaking my head and hoping he sits.
