No one expects us to make trades before the deadline, despite what our rivals the 76ers and the Bucks have been doing to beef up their roster.
Why?
Because without any additions, we have 3 players we are banking on who will step up their games — and it seems like they finally are. Gotdon Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier are starting to heat up. They’ve been a disappointment for most of this season, but are gearing up to make it a good postseason. All 3 can put up 20 pts and provide defense (yup, it looks like Hayward is returning to form in this area too).

I gotta say, what Philly has done just for this year is impressive in terms of getting Butler and Tobias. I'd be worried if I was them that I was giving all my depth away and could potentially lose the stars I traded for. Not to mention whether they jell and how little time they have to come together.
However, the Bucks probably made the best move and are definitely the team I'm worried about. It's gonna be interesting if we have a matchup with them in the playoffs.

Raptors just traded for Marc Gasol, beefing up their starting 5. We’ve got a slew of eastern conference foes who are fighting to make the Finals this year. Danny is smart cause he knows on the otherside are the Warriors, and no one is dethroning them this year. Danny is aiming for the bigger prize (AD, and I bet another huge piece this summer). But we are still in the mix for the Finals. Hayward, Jaylen and Rozier, if they start peaking right now, will give us a huge boost going into the stretch run. These 3 are starters on most teams, and we have them coming off our bench. We can stand pat with these 3 emerging from their slumber.

Off the top of my head I can't remember a better Top 4 in the Eastern Conference going into the playoffs. MIL, TOR, BOS and PHI are all really good teams. Should make for a great playoffs.

Looks like we are not standing pat — I was premature. Danny trades Jabari Bird to Atlanta (not officially, but in the works).
This frees up a roster spot to pursue a buyout candidate like Kanter, DeAndre Jordan , etc.

Just saw this and it makes a ton of sense.
Sources: Despite dealing Jabari Bird, the Boston Celtics will not avoid the luxury tax this season. Boston is now likely to use their MLE to sign a player to a big two-year deal, with the idea of having the second season as part of salary matching in a trade for Anthony Davis.

Wow. I shouldn't have spoken - I like what the Raptors did as well.
I'm glad we freed up that spot - will be interesting to see what we do with it. I agree that Davis seems to be the big prize and it's not like our team isn't already stacked. I just hope GH continues to get better.

I do not think there was any one player that BOS could realistically trade for that would have put the team over MIL, TOR, or PHI. BOS is going to win or lose regardless. PHI, and TOR made some interesting deals. No one mentioned Fultz was traded (talk about a sunk cost).

Who knows what will happen this summer with Anthony Davis, but we may have "won" the trade deadline by keeping him away from the Lakers - at least for now. One thing is certain. July is going to be a very interesting month for Celtics fans. Let's hope for something similar to this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6TnilbMphAStill give me chills.

I'm still mad he didn't get to win another ring with us. If it wasn't for that knee injury we could've had the real Garnett for another year or two which would've been multiple championships for sure.

Cool video. However, I prefer the youtube video where McHale clothelines Rambis, which is followed by "NBA, where it happens."
