I don’t buy that Kyrie is jumping ship, especially the talk of reuniting with Lebron in Los Angeles. The way he bolted out of CLE, forcing them to trade him, he’s out to prove that he can lead a championship team.
This is all smokescreen that his future in Boston is uncertain (and the more the media makes a story of this, the better because it leads everyone away from what he’s really going to do).
My take is, Kyrie will opt out this summer, allowing us to trade for Anthony Davis (who it seems is good friends with Kyrie), and once that is accomplished, Kyrie can re-sign with us.
I don’t think this violates any rules, and I’m not sure how the salaries will fit under the cap — but as far as I can see, this is Ainge’s strategy.
We’re going to lose many pieces to acquire AD, but we’ve all known that AD has been Ainge’s target for years now. Hoping we can hold onto Tatum.

I totally agree about the reporting being false. This has happened for every free agent that is worth a damn since LaMarcus Aldridge and none have gone there with the exception of LeFlop and he was going to go there regardless because of his off the court ventures.
What this wreaks of is desperation and lack of patience by LeFlop who is pressuring the Fakers to speed up the rebuild because he is hurt and once you get hurt as you get older it doesn't get better from there and nagging injuries increase. Another reason they are desperate is because they know none of the free agents are going there as Kwahi seems to be either staying in Toronto or going to the Clippers as they have two max slots available and have Jerry West recruiting for them. This is where Magic and LA's terrible drafting really hurts them because other than Kuzma, nobody else has potential to be anything other than a role player.
The media is full of Faker fan boys and girls so they will push the AD to LA narrative until this saga is overwith too. All this did by announcing it right now was give LA a chance to make a trade without competition but New Orleans has already said that they are not going to trade him before the deadline unless they get blown away by an offer and LA can't do that with their lack of assets. What that tells me is that New Orleans is saying (censored) you LA and we are waiting for Boston to make us their best offer before we decide who to trade him too.

D' I am 100% certain Danny is certain Kyrie resigns, and that "hand shake" agreement would benefit BOS, and not cost Kyrie anything. Salary wise, BOS has to send out X amount of dollars. Like Brown/Smart/Yabu/RW3 + SAC & MEM selections would probably work. I think the difference between 1 championship, and a dynasty (like multiple championships) is retaining Tatum. The starting 5 would be Kyrie, Davis, Horford, Tatum, and Hayward. Kyrie & Davis only makes BOS the favorite out of the East.

Woj is reporting that Davis has been telling people that he will sign with the Lakers as a free agent in 2020 and that anyone who trades for him will be getting a one-year rental. Boy, if that is true he's really screwing the Pelicans. Who is going to give up much for one year of Davis? Can you imagine if Danny traded away half the team and a bunch of picks for Davis and he walked the next summer? If this is really Davis's plan, we should just stick it out, let our young guys keep developing, and see what the Sacro and Memphis picks turn into.
More from Woj: "The stance of Davis and his camp toward Boston is linked to their view of Kyrie Irving's future, sources said. Davis and his camp no longer believe that Irving is a sure bet to re-sign with the Celtics this summer, and that's the primary reason they insist on clumping Boston with a similar message to the 28 other teams: Buyer beware on a trade for Davis."
Reading that it sounds like if we resign Kyrie, which we all seem to think is the most likely scenario, then Davis would be open to staying past 2020 if we acquired him. Especially since they are very close friends.

I take all this as Kyrie and Davis messing with everyone, while Danny knows it’s in the bank that Kyrie is re-signing and the Pelicans will trade Davis to us.
AD is saying this so that teams will back off trading for him right now.
Danny says he talks with Kyrie daily, and he feels good about Kyrie’s commitment to remain a Celtic.
With all the assets we have, the Pelicans know we can offer the best package for their rebuild.

As is being reported, Danny is ready to go all in and sell the farm for AD — all except for Tatum.
Hey, you know, Kawhi is set to be a free agent this summer. Just saying 👍

I read a lot today, where I am not even sure what is true, or false. I am OK a package of Brown & picks, however Tatum is untouchable.

Is it crazy to think Ainge’s targets are Anthony Davis AND Kevin Durant?

I find it funny that, at least one media outlet, is stating the Lakers are offering a blockbuster trade package, when that package is Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and draft picks.
Ball and Ingram are nothing special, and Kuzma may be the best of this package and he’s not even a borderline star player!

I read it was more like 5 different offers, where all were included, but none in the same offer. Also, Davis now has willing to sign list (which means nothing, see Kyrie).

Max Keller is making his case for Kyrie going to the Lakers.
I tell you, the more the media tries to force their slant on folks, the more i’m convinced BOS is the place where AD, and maybe even Durant (or Kawhi or Klay) will end.

I read today that an offer of their 3, plus 2 first rounds selections was on, the off the table. None of those players have future all-NBA, and the two selections would be non lottery. If a deal with LAL does not go down, Magic/Rob really over estimated players wanting to go to LA.

If Magic hadn't overvalued Ball and had taken Tatum instead, he might have had enough to get Davis. To me the Lakers are offering a lot of junk and the Pelicans would be foolish to trade with them.

As of now (Wed 2:20 PM EST) I don't think the Pelicans are going to trade Davis before the deadline. I don't see any upside to rushing into it when they can almost certainly do better this summer.
