Woj is reporting that AD has informed the Pelicans that he won't resign and wants to be traded to a team with a chance to win. He'll be a free agent in the summer of 2020. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25868546/anthony-davis-told-new-orleans-pelicans-re-signWe have long heard rumors that Danny covets Davis. Now we have to hope that N.O. doesn't trade him this season. We can't trade for him now unless Kyrie is part of the package, but we CAN trade for him this summer. So, let the speculation begin: who will be part of the package we offer? Davis's salary for 2019-20 is just over $27 million. Matching this may be Danny's biggest challenge. We know one thing for sure. Danny will be bold. Be prepared to lose your favorite player, whoever it might be.

It is very likely that he will be a Celtic next year as long as NO doesn’t panic and trade him at the deadline for a lesser package.
I would start with Brown, Snart, and all of the first round picks for the next two years which I believe total 5 or 7, I can't remember.
All I ask is that we don't include both Tatum and Brown. I can live with just about everything else because we will need one of those young guys to fill out the starting lineup.
Tben I would resign Al to a cheaper cobtract and use the savings to resign both Morris and Rozier and there would be more minutes for whoever we keep between Brown/Tatum and Rozier to fully use their talents.
What does everyone else think it would take?

If we could get him for Brown, Smart and multiple picks (none of which are likely to be Top 5) I'd do it. Top 5 players rarely become available and you have to pull the trigger if you have the opportunity to get one. To match salaries we'd have to throw in more bench players, possibly 3 or more, so we should try to hold onto at least some of the picks, just for affordable depth.
I would think that N.O. would start by asking for Tatum AND Brown, but Danny will try his best to hold onto one of them. For a while I thought this was a no-brainer in favor of keeping Tatum, but Brown seems to be finding his way lately, and positionally, if we get AD, Brown may be a better fit. In terms of matching salary, Smart would almost HAVE to be part of the deal unless we traded Horford or Hayward, and I don't see N.O. wanting either as the centerpiece of the deal.
Danny is cold-blooded, and will do what makes the team better, regardless of emotion, so buckle your seat belts come July if Davis isn't traded by the deadline next month.

I am willing to suspect Davis was coached to asking out.
BOS can easily put together the best package, which nets Davis to add to Irving.
If I had to speculate, I would say Brown or Tatum (not both), both the MEM & SAC selections, and RW3 (he is from NO).
