Putrid, putrid, putrid. Down at one point in the first half by 26, AT HOME, vs the awful KNICKS! Heard some boos, and I can't really blame the crowd. Bad offense, worse defense. C's made a run at the end of the half to keep them within reach at -16, but they better play better or it will be ugly.
I am rapidly getting to the point where I'm done with Smart (ok, I've been there for a long time) done with Jaylen, who seems to be regressing badly, and done with Rozier, who seems to need to start to play well. I'm also getting desperate for a big man who can keep guys like Kantor from killing us on the offensive glass.
Much more of this and trader Danny will shake things up.

Don't even know what to say at this point Wonder if Brad will find "positives" in this game or realize it is time to go back to the drawing board

To me this is the low point of the Brad Stevens era.
There is no single thing that we can point to as the cause of this mess, but falling behind big almost every game has to stop. And once again, we make an ok guard (Trey Burke) look all-world.
If I'm going to look for positives, it's that a couple of Hayward's 3's fell, finally, and Jaylen showed some aggressiveness going to the rim in the second half, both with and without the ball.
I think we're going to see more of Morris and less of Rozier.

Is Morris the only player on our team who we could say is having a good year? Kyrie has been great after tommy called him out but I swear everyone else is either been off more than on (Tatum) or absolutely dreadful (Brown, Rozier). All I know is that no one will be writing about Brad’s genius this year.

I totally agree, Smart is the first one that needs to go, he is totally worthless. And a decision on Kyrie may need to be made too because he shoots us out of games more than he keeps us in right now. We can't trade for AD until Kyrie ops out of his contract, so I would consider looking at putting Kyrie in a trade for AD. Add Smart, and whatever picks, that way we can keep Tatum and Brown. Some of this is just frustration, but something has to happen to let them know that this isn't ok.
I like that Brad benched Heyward, but Brown still stunk up the joint. Something has to happen and soon, because something is very wrong with this team.

All I know is that no one will be writing about Brad’s genius this year. I wouldn't even count Kyrie as being anything great. He's been an inefficient chucker for the most part this year. He has won a few games, but also has been the cause of us losing some games due to poor shooting like in todays game.

IMO that is what needs to change first is the mindset of this team. The biggest problem we have that I see is that we are the worst team in the league in scoring in the paint at 37 ppg, which is pathetic. I understood all of the 3's when we were undermanned with IT, Crowder, and Smart having huge roles because 3's are the great equalizer when you don't match up in talent. Well now we may have the most talented team in the league and we are still one of the league leaders in jacking 3's. We have way too much athletic ability to just be a 3 and D team.
It's on you Brad, you have the talent, now you need to get it right.

Jmost, thanks for getting up the game thread. Coach Stevens line-ups are really confusing. He plays guys who have not earned the right, then benches guys who are hot. Afceltic mentioned paint points. Watch the CHA game, and Theis had several easy paint points; tonight Theis played 4 minutes. At this point, I want RW3 now and want to see what he can do.
Question: do you think the team is playing with the mindset of playoffs, regardless of seeding?

Stevens says he is trying out different combinations to see who plays well with whom, so that explains some of the rotations.
I don't know if the team is coasting, thinking that they'll turn it on when the playoffs get here. I do believe that they are not playing hard enough for 48 minutes to win games. Why do wait until we're down 13 with 3 minutes left to show some energy?
In his post-game press conference Brad seemed to be saying that the team needs to develop (I believe his phrase was) a "nasty toughness". From a couple of his recent comments it's clear he thinks the problem is attitude along with what he called technical fixes, rather than lack of talent.

Thankfully he did not say "lack of talent." 9 guys can start for any team in the NBA.
