Allonzo Trier has played well for the Knicks so far with 17.0 points, 3.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds.
With Frank Ntilikina out with a groin injury, Trier got a chance to show he can run the point for the team and will play for them on a two-way contract this season.

Game Notes
The Celtics begin the playoff portion of Summer League against division rival New York Knicks. Like the Celtics, the Knicks team is a combination of rookies, second year players and undrafted hopefuls. Win or lose, they are guaranteed one more game after this one.
If the Celtics win this game they will go on to play on Saturday at 6:30 PM ET against the winner of the Pelicans/Heat game. If they lose this game, they will play on Friday at 4:30 PM ET against the loser of the Pelicans/Heat game. If they lose they are out after Friday's game. If they win and then win on Saturday, they would play on Sunday at 8:00 PM ET. If they win that game, they would play on Monday at 10:30 and if they win that game they will play on Tuesday at 10. A loss in any game will send them home.
Both teams may be missing a key players. Frank Ntilikina, the Knicks point guard of the future, suffered a groin injury and is listed as day to day. This is giving Allonzo Trier an opportunity to make an impression. Also listed as day to day are Isaiah Hicks (groin) and Luke Kornet (hamstring).
The Celtics rookie, Robert Williams III hasn't played since the first quarter of the Celtics first game in Summer League. He is listed as day to day with a knee bruise. He has expressed his hope that he will be able to play in spite of still having some pain in the knee. The Celtics are likely to be cautious with him and if there is any doubt about the knee he will once again sit out the game.
