I don't know about you, but I think I'm done with checking for updates for a little while, now that the draft is over. So much information about our team surfaced this past week, about us possibly trading for Kawhi, or trading someone like Rozier and future picks to move up in the draft to nab so and so -- it was kind of exciting, but just too much.
If anything, it was a reminder to us that Danny never stops tinkering. He's constantly working the phones, trying to find moves that makes sense and makes us better.
What we learned is Danny values our guys and assets. Maybe we didn't move up in the draft because Danny was unwilling to part with one of our younger guys and future draft picks. Maybe there won't be a Kawhi trade because they're asking for more than Danny is willing to offer.
And maybe another thing we learned is Danny is saving all his ammo to unload on a worthy prize.
Think about it -- we are contenders, our roster is full, our team is young, and next year we have 4 potential first round picks. We're sitting on the winning lottery ticket, and we've got to cash in or we get nothing.
Nothing happened at this draft. We didn't trade to move up, or move down. We didn't trade to bring in a star. But Danny was trying. Sooner or later, Danny is going to strike, and it's just a matter of when it'll be, and for who.

Speaking of the draft I really like this Williams kid. He fits our largest need as a rim protector and finisher at the rim as it was stated that he has the best hands of any big guy and best lob finisher in the draft. People just didn't get to see it very often as Texas A & M only ran 9 lobs to him all season. He is compared to DeAndre Jordan and Clint Capella and Boston was listed as one of the six big winners in the draft as Williams was listed as a top 10 talent and may be the steal of the draft at 27. He will allow Al to play his natural 4 position and if he can play anywhere near the quality of Jordan or Capella then we just got a lot better today.

I also like that the major negative was his work ethic which will go well with Brad's approach to doing the little things every day and growing as a basketball player. If he truly is going to develop some good habits then it'd have to be here - the environment is set and he seems to have all the required skills and room to grow.

Danny takes fliers on players that he has seen for a while. Example - G Green, J Brown, R Williams.

I hate the silly seasons when everyone tries to post the most outrageous trades and rumors. I used to get all worked up about the rumors but learned long ago that most of them are just smoke with no sparks let alone fire. I see them all because I post the links but take all of them with a grain of salt.
