If the dreaded superteam is formed in LA, with Lebron and Kawhi, and then any other name, such as Lilliard, Paul George, Chris Paul, maybe even Durant, this is what we need to do so that we'll stop that superteam from 3-peating.
1) trade for Athony Davis
or
2) trade for the [HASH]1 to get DeAndre Ayton
We're set at the wings and ball handling, and we have Horford to play the 4 or 5. What we need to complete our MEGAteam is a stud big (and All-Of-Australia is not good enough).
Anthony Davis will cost us a lot, but he's the centerpiece you want to build around with Tatum. If not that route, we need to move up to get Ayton. He's got top 5, maybe top 4 or 3 level talent.

I don't see anything on the Lakers' roster that would be tempting to the Spurs. We have WAY more to offer. The question is, will we? What are the chances of Kawhi staying here after next year? Would getting Kawhi affect our chances of keeping Kyrie?

I highly doubt RC Buford trades SAS to rival LAL.

I highly doubt RC Buford trades SAS to rival LAL. Let's hope so. And I hope the old adage that "you don't trade within your conference" applies here too.

If that superteam exists in Lakerland, they still aren't good enough to beat the Warriors if the Warriors had all 4 of their All-Stars back.
Lebron still has to guard KD who rained on him all playoffs. PG13 and Kawhi would take on Draymond and Klay
But that still leaves Curry open
AND Kerr is a better coach than anyone the Lakers could employ right now.
With all the cap space gone on the Lakers, good luck trying to have any decent bench players.

For BOS, we just need to keep worrying about the Warriors.

Pop has already said on numerous occasions that he won't trade Kawhi to anyone in the West as he think it would be an ignorant move to help a rival in the same conference. He even has gone on the record that he wished he was on the competition committee so he could have voided the Gasoft trade to LA in 07-08 and chastised Memphis for trading Gasoft within the conference. So I can't see him getting traded to any Western Conference team. The issue is that I read that Kawhi is ok with losing money after next year to go where he wants to sign. So that would have to get worked out and lowers his value a lot in a trade.

If Kawhi's uncle knows that his nephew is, without a doubt, going to sign with the Lakers next summer, no matter what, then hopefully Kyrie can get that info and relay it to Ainge.

I don't see the Spurs trading Kawhi to a conference rival, especially since most people think that LeBron is going there. Paul George is likely to be going there as well. He said several times before last year's trade that he wanted to play in LA. So they may have their super team with LeBron and Paul George even without Kawhi. I don't think they have enough assets to make that trade anyway.

Russ and Melo and if you count in Adams is just not enough to compete. Could that be the catalyst for an OKC firesale? There is just noone who seems to want to go to OKC willingly.

......lock up Stevens to a longer contract, get the team healthy, and let the teams in the west beat each other up. Wait for a cheap trade for a disgruntled star. Sorta like how we got Kyrie.

Presti is a good GM and will likely do something like this. I really like Adams and would love to get him if they do have a fire sale. But I doubt Presti will panic and I doubt that he will let Adams get away.
