Let's pull aside these two prospects and conclude who will make the bigger impact in the NBA.
From a defensive standpoint, both are capable of being good defenders, due to their height and instincts. But Bamba has the longer wingspan and standing reach, which should give him the edge in blocking shots.
Both are quick footed for nearly 7 footers, and along with their athleticism and length, should be able to cover ground, even when the have to run out to the perimeter to contest shots, or take on switches on smaller players.
But if you had to choose who'll be the more surefire defensive contributor, the nod should go to Mo Bamba.
Offensively, Bamba is working on his 3pt shot, and when he has the space and the time to shoot it in his rhythm, he seems capable of knocking them down. But Jaren Jackson looks to be the more comfortable shooter, having good percentages at the line, beyond the arc and in between.
Both are major threats for the alley oop dunks and throw downs on putbacks.
If you had to choose who'll be the more surefire offensive contributor, it'll likely be Jaren Jackson.
I think Jaren Jackson can take bumps and shoves a little bit better than Bamba, as Bamba reminds me of Bambi with his skinny twig legs.
Overall, I'd say Jaren Jackson has more of an impact in the NBA overall.

It's tough. I think Bamba has a higher ceiling, but he has a much lower floor. I struggle to see Jackson any less than a solid backup rotational big. Bamba could be out of the league in 5 years. Because of this, I'm going with JJJ.

I think Jackson will be better than Mo. Jackson has the look of a player who can adapt to more defensive schemes whereas Mo seems less versatile? I think they'll both be decent and average a good number of blocks and the usual rebounds...but Jackson seems more comfortable with his shooting stroke and that to me doesn't make him as much of an offensive liability.
