For C Paul, P2 will be needed. Though, P2 is a great wing, DA has done a fine job of drafting wings.

I agree, RR. That's why I asked the question a while back if you guys felt that we could survive without Pierce if we had a top notch PG on the team and if our young players can deveop into big time scorers (Big Al, Gerald Green, Ricky Davis) who'll fill the void left by Pierce's absense.
Tonight's game vs. the Bucks was weird. Our players didn't seem to be playing hard at all, as if they are expecting something to happen that will make changes with the team. They seemed deflated. Ricky and Delonte, who normally play their hearts out, seemed to be holding back. I wonder if the team was informed of a possible trade?
I absolutely feel that we need to trade Blount right now. Ainge NEEDS to move him. I hope none of you are falling for his scoring. Its fools gold. He's no good aside from his scoring. We are too soft with him on the court. We need a boost in our team attitude to give us a more tough identity.

Derren, I have watched every game this season, and as much as I hate to say it, right now, we need his scoring. I know he doesn't rebound or play much one on one defense, but I don't think that Perk or Big Al is that good a defensive player right now to make up for the loss in scoring without Blount. I would love to see him and his contract moved too, but Ainge needs to get those points back in any trade he makes, if the Celtics are going to at least be competitive.
Moving Blonut sounds easier than it is. He makes around 6 million a year, but if he gets traded there is also a 15% trade kicker that would automatically go into effect. I am not sure who would make this deal with Ainge. Maybe Danny can pull a rabbit out of his hat and find a taker for Blonut, but if I was you, I wouldn't hold my breath. Possibly, he could package him with one of the young guys, but then would we be getting any sort of equal value? This is just a bad situation, and I'm not certain there is a way out of it.

I feel that not Perk, but Al can more than make up for the scoring void left by Blunt if he gets the proper minutes and touches, lol, and by the end of the season I think Al with enough minutes could be as good as Blunt defensively. He already has better shotblocking instincts and is a much better rebounder around the basket. Two weeks ago, I would have disagreed, and said Al isn't ready, but over the passed couple of weeks he has steadily imrpoved. He just needs to play!

I have a feeling that you may start hearing rumors about Jeff McGinnis to Boston. He is unhappy in NJ, and I remember in the summer Ainge was talking to him. Don't know if NJ would trade in their own division, and this would stunt the growth of Delonte as well.
One thing is for sure. IF Ainge makes a trade for a point guard, it will mean he has partially given up on the young point guards that we have. Getting a veteran point guard such as McGinnins (not saying that I am for or against it), the vet will play most of the minutes.

Do we realistically have the time to develop 3 young PG's? Delonte, Banks, and Orien are years away from being able to run an NBA team efficiently and it'll take them years to understand the nuances. But if they don't receive a whole lot of playing time, it'll take longer than 3 years for them to develop fully.
Has there been any team in the league who had to develop 3 young PG's? Maybe its time to decide on holding onto just 2 of them.

Developing 3 pgs is non-sense.
Holding onto 4pgs is down right idiotic.
Especially when you're force to play guys like veal in the front court.

If you had to hold onto 2 PG's, which ones would they be?

If you had to hold onto 2 PG's, which ones would they be? That's a tough decision. I would definately rule out Dikau, and Orien will be one of the 2 PG's I choose. But It's tough to choose between Delonte and Marcus to be the 2nd PG. Here's what Delonte brings to the table: shooting ability, solid D, toughness, leadership. Here's what Marcus brings to the table: great defense, speed, scoring abilty. I can't decide yet. Who would you guys choose?
