What do you guys think about Zarren going to our rival organization, who'll be neck and neck with us in the coming years at the top of the EC?
I really don't know all that much about Zarren, aside from him being Ainge's cap guru. Does losing him cripple what we've been building?

I really don't know all that much about Zarren, aside from him being Ainge's cap guru. Does losing him cripple what we've been building? In 2013, Zarren was the leading candidate for the vacant PHI GM role. However, he withdrew his application and they hired some guy called Sam Hinkie? I would not be surprised if Danny changes Zarren's title from assistant GM to GM. Danny is the Director of Operations, which is like one and the same as GM. My opinion, if Brad is 1a, and Danny is 1b, Zarren is like 1c. Danny makes the final call, however Zarren does all the leg work.

But is Zarren replaceable? Can we contiune building without him? Or is his number crunching skills unique and difficult to replace?

However, when there is a decision to be made, its Danny/Stevens/Zarren. Zarren is MA native, Harvard graduate, season ticket holder. I doubt he is leaving, however I see BOS making him stay too.

I hope his loyalty keeps him in Boston. But if he wants to be GM someday, I can see him leaving because I think Austin Ainge is being groomed to take over at some point after papa Danny steps away.

Zarren is next in line. However, Austin Ainge is very very good. Director of scouting, who finds hidden gems.
