You think of the Bird era dynasty, our weakest link was Danny Ainge -- but even he was a heck of a ballplayer. And that's why that team with Parish, McHale, Bird, Danny and DJ were champions -- very little chinks in the armor.

Danny Best BaseBall Player in the NBA Maybe. I don't think he made it out of minors, did he? I'm still waiting for Pat Connoughton to give up basketball (drafted by the Blazers) so he can come play for my Orioles.

Danny played parts of 3 seasons for Toronto, hitting .220 with 2 HRs in over 700 plate appearances. He didn't bite anyone.

Orioles playing bad this year We're playing for next year's top draft pick -- so I think we're playing exceptionally well!

Question to you all: do you think rolling out a lineup of Horford, Tatum, Hayward, Jaylen and Kyrie would constitute a championship caliber starting 5 from a positional standpoint? What I'm getting at is, do you think Tatum at the 4 is wise, or that it'll work? We all see a need to upgrade at the Bigs, and I don't think plugging Tatum there just so we can play Hayward, Jaylen and Tatum together is going to solve that. That was the lineup opening night. That lineup will make hay in today's nba.

I bet Tatum puts on 20 pounds of muscle this summer. I expect him to play plenty at PF, although Brad says repeatedly that he doesn't think in those terms. He's said he thinks of ball-handlers, wing players and bigs. So the real question is, how many bigs do you want out there for a given situation? If it's only 1 then JT will play a lot of what we would think of as PF.

It might, not saying it won't -- we just don't know. But if Brad and Ainge feel it's contention worthy, and we don't need to make a big splash this summer for Lebron, Kawhi, AD, KAT, or whoever, then in Ainge and Brad we trust.

Going Big is the easy answer but I'm keen to see what another year of Baynes and Theis brings to the team.
I'm more inclined to say a proper ball handler outside of Kyrie. Rozier did well enough but at the end of the day, he wasn't as much a facilitator as I hoped he'd be...which meant the offense stagnated at times. I'd like to see someone who could break down defenses and get the ball to guys slashing like Tatum or getting open for 3s like Brown. I felt that was missing throughout the playoffs even though there were spurts of playmaking from Terry and Marcus...but not full time like you would have from someone whose first instinct is pass.

Gordon Hayward was oftentimes the Point man for the Jazz. Once Tatum can really get a handle on his handle, he'll be another ball handler. I think we all know what Baynes has to offer. And as good as he has been for us, I don't think he'll boost his level of play significantly higher than it is. Theis, maybe (I say probably). But how much higher we don't know, and probably not star level.
