Sure we beat them 4 games to 1, but these guys are legitimately on the way to contendership (with a few more key pieces).
Embiid, as long as he’s healthy and continues to improve, will be too good to stop. Ben Simmons is a multi-time All-Star in the making. Dario Saric is an underrated part of their core. And if Markelle Fultz ever gets his act together, he adds another dimension to their already diverse offensive attack.
I’m glad that we’re done with this series — not only cause we move on to the ECF, but also because these Sixers were such a challenge to us. Like Brad said, we easily could have been down 2 games to 1 to them.
And now, to toot our own horn, if the Sixers couldn’t beat us as we are now, how depressing it must be for them to think we’re going to have Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward next year!!! It’s like adding 2 All-Star free agents this summer who’ll make it even harder for them to take us down!

Yup, we add Gordon and Kyrie, they add Fultz. Young players on both teams should improve a lot if Jaylen's second year jump is any indication. And someone may get lucky with the ping pong balls (which I believe are drawn next Tuesday).
With the right coaching, other young teams like the Bucks may join the party, but these two teams should be battling for years.

PHI had a great season, and playoffs. Frankly, I was among the fans that thought any playoff seed was too soon. Should be a good rivalry for years to follow.
I discredit Embiid walking off the court after game [HASH]5. Poor sportsmanship.

The Sixers also have the 10th pick in this year's draft, with the possibility of it being the [HASH]1 if the Lakers win the lottery grand prize. With the 10th pick, the Sixers can nab another quality young player.
We're picking 27th, unless the Lakers end up with either the 2nd or 3rd pick, in which we'll be getting it.
If the pick doesn't convey to us, we're getting Sacramento's pick next year (as long as it isn't the [HASH]1 overall). We may end up getting a real nice prospect because I think the Kings will be one of the 5 worst teams next year.
So both we and the Sixers are definitely building great teams, and we're both only going to get stronger.

For a guy who talks as much as he does, being so outspoken and poking fun at so many people, he's gotta be able to take hardship when it comes his way. Just makes him look like a crybaby.

I think it was ESPN's poll, among 21 of its panelists, 18 of them chose Philly to win the series. Only 3 people picked us to move on to the ECF!!!
But that just goes to show you how good the Sixers have become. They've literally become a solid playoff team overnight.
For us to have beaten them, even without 2 of our best players, and with Jaylen's hamstring issue, and Smart's thumb, that speaks highly of how good we are.

Right, but the Lakers' pick can't be 4th or 5th, now that they've finished with the 10th worst record. If they move up from [HASH]10 it can only be to [HASH]1-[HASH]3 because to NBA draft lottery rules. We have about a 3% chance of getting the Lakers' pick this year, which would be either [HASH]2 or [HASH]3.

That's right....my brain fart because they only use the ping pong balls for the top 3 picks and then fall in line in order of record after that. So I hope not to see LA come up at #10. Thanks for the clarification Jmost.

Corangelo is a poor drafter. I really want to know the truth on Fultz (what was the issue)?

What a bizarre rebuild they have had in Philly.
Nerlens Noel misses entire rookie season. Never develops into much.
Embiid misses entire rookie season.
Embiid misses entire second season.
Okafor never develops into much.
Simmons misses entire rookie season.
Fultz misses almost his entire rookie season.
It's hard to believe this is just all bad luck. Other than the guys above, how many rookies in the history of the league missed their entire rookie seasons? A couple? Blake Griffin and who else? And one team has it happen over and over again in the course of a few years? Very suspicious. I almost never believe in conspiracy theories, but it wouldn't shock me to learn that Philly basically set out to do whatever necessary to keep adding very high draft picks, year after year. But as far as I know the league never investigated, so here they are, poised now for long-term success, even though they struck out on half their high picks, with Fultz still an unknown as a pro.
Can you tell I really don't like that team?

Can you tell I really don't like that team? I wonder if Hinkie did not make it obvious, would the NBA have stepped in? Example - Presti (OKC) had a slightly similar process that netted KD, Westbrook, and Harden in consecutive drafts (and doubled up with Ibaka in one of those drafts); I do not recall him trading assets for draft selections, keeping more than enough cap space open, or scoping the d-league for gems.

They also missed on Stauskas and Kormaz Stauskas was a Sacto pick. He ended up in Philly via trade.
