The Atlantic Division is once again very weak. But for once, we aren't alone on the bottom of the division chart. In the Eastern conference, The Atlantic Division has a combined record of 33 and 59 with all 5 teams below .500 NJ 8-9 Boston 8-10 Philly 8-11 NY 6-12 Toronto 3-17
Joining us at the bottom though, is the Southeast Division where only Miami has a winning record. The SE division has a combined record of 32-59 Miami 10-9 Washington 8-9 Orlando 7-11 Charlotte 5-14 Atlanta 2-16
The Central Division has a 54 and 30 combined record with all 5 teams with winning records.
In the West, The Northwest division has a record of 42-48 with 2 teams above .500
Pacific division is a combined 53 and 38 with 4 of the 5 above .500
and the Southwest is 55 and 35 with 3 of the 5 above 500.
It really doesn't mean alot other than the fact that there is another division almost as bad as ours. Of course, I am sure that if Shaq wasn't injured the SE division would look a lot better. In the West, the divisions are pretty equal with 2 or 3 teams at the top and a bottom deweller or two in each. The Central division is clearly the cream of East and maybe the whole league.
Just some rantings on a slow day waiting for the game tonight....

All this shows me, is that no one in the division is out of the playoff race. Also, at this pace the average win total in this division figures to be 35 to 40 wins total and automatic 3rd seed and a seven game series against the Chicago Bulls or the Cleveland Cavaliers (no HCA). This is not going to be a picnic.
