A blow for this young kid. But it wasn't like he was a sure one and done. He made it clear that he would stay in college beyond this year under certain circumstances.

What if he fell because of this injury? Lets say we got the lowest possible Lakers pick. I think it was no.5 or no.6? And this is after all the top guys have been taken. Ayton, Bagley, Doncic...is his potential worth a pick at that spot? He is after all a very highly rated talent at a premium spot. But back injuries have a habit of lingering.

Honestly, because of this injury, I'd be surprised if Porter doesn't return to Mizz.
But, if he does go, I don't see him falling any lower than 4, maybe 5 (if Mamba holds his hype). As long as the doctors say he'll make a full recovery and this won't hinder his career, his hype is still high.
I'm not sold on Porter yet. I see a soft player who takes too many long jumpers and doesn't take contact very well.
