What's interesting about this game is we never gave up. We were down by 10 and we fight back to get within 5. We were down by 16 and we fight back to get within 3. It was like that the whole night. The Spurs would show their goods and seem like they have the game completely in hand. But we'd get into a big run and come back to within 5.
But despite this, we totally played an individual game. Everyone was trying to win the game on their own--and it was so depressing. I shook my head in disgust so many times.
Now normally, losing to the Spurs isn't such a big deal--they are the best team in the NBA right now, bar none. Losing to them shouldn't come as a surprise. But this game was frustrating because I actually thought we could have pulled this one out. Sure, the Spurs weren't going to Duncan as much as they normally do (showing us some mercy, maybe?), and Parker wasn't attacking as much as he normally does. But if we could have played our game, we could have pulled off a big surprise.
Oh well, as long as we've learned something from this game, that's all I can hope for.

I agree derren, very discouraging. I didn't expect that we would win, but they just outplayed us in practically every facet of the game. I guess that is why they are the world champs. But you could definitely tell by the way they controlled their offense. They always made their extra pass. We could have EASILY been blown out by 20 or 25pts. They made the extra pass and had SO MANY open looks, but missed a bunch. Our defense is putrid, although the desire seems to be there.
It seemed as if towards the end Pierce was frustrated and tried to do everything on his own. Same thing with Ricky. That is not a good sign. I expect to lose again tonight but hopefully they can get back to playing team basketball again, and play some actual D to stop the other team from going off offensively.
