We have yet to win more than 1 game in a row. And after defeating the Hornets on Wednesday night, we now look to get our first 2 game winning streak by taking our chances against the mighty San Antonio Spurs.
We all know our backs are will be up against the wall even before the game starts because the Spurs are playing extremely well. They are already in playoff shape. Tony Parker, in his 4th year, has really blossomed into a top shelf PG.
Our last meeting turned out sour, as they whopped us 103 - 82. Will we play better this time? Lets pray we do.
Not much to say here. We need to play the best game of the season just to stay in this game.
GO CELTICS!!!

I predict we lose, but trying to be an optimist, here are the things that I am looking forward to in this game:
-The improved play of Perkins. If he plays solid D and bangs with Duncan down low to "contain" him, it will help his confidence as well as Doc's confidence in him. One thing about Duncan is that he is not a beast in the paint. Perkins can out muscle him. Duncan has light years of b-ball IQ and craftiness over Perk though. Also, Duncan will try to take Perk outside a little around the 15 foot area and shoot his "bankers" off the glass. It will be a tough guard for Perk definitely. It will be a challenge.
-The improved play of D West. If he can slow down Parker (difficult) it will help us a lot. And even though I do not think that we will win, it will give us a better shot at winning if Delonte gives Parker a hard time. I would like to see Delonte get the offense a little more involved, and for him to make plays happen himself a little more. A 6 assist game would be nice form him tonight.
-I would like to see Ricky go off tonight for about 25, making it harder for the Spurs to defend us.
-If Raef has a stellar game and shoots the ball well, I think it will be extremely difficult for San Antonio to guard us. If Pierce, Ricky and Raef all have great offensive nights, then we have a real shot at winning I think.
It will take all of these things that I have mentioned to happen simultaneously for us to even have a shot to win this game. Here's hoping that they do, and hoping that we win this game.

good analysis Esco33. this is one we aren't expected to win. Given the way this team has played to date, we haven't won the ones we are expected to and so we may just surprise and win the one we aren't! It is going to take good team play along with good defense and our shots falling and like you said, all these things coming together to win this. If we just play well and hold our own I will be happy and will see progress.

Hopefully we do win one that we aren't expected to win. I will just be looking for a lot of the improvements in play that I mentioned. If none of those things happens, and we get blown out by 20 points, I will be disappointed. But if we do all or most of those things, and play a good competitive game all the way to the end, I probably will still be disappointed if we lose, but I will be happy about the progress made, and that is what I will be looking for.

I am taking Mrs Q to a Beatles imitation concert, so no colorful commentary from me. I suspect I will have a perfectly good time tonight, and come home to watch the hi-lights and read your comments. Hopefully, we get some invaluable experience out of this trip. (God I have become a defeatist)

I want to see Big Al keep on putting consistent numbers and what a test it would to put up a double-double against the defending champs.

West and Reaf could be key factors in this game. If they can hit on some treys early, it might keep us in the game, with a chance at the end.
PP and RD need to be solid again...That's a given.

Someone keeping Tony Parker in check will give us a better chance at an upset. If we can get him in foul trouble that will be to our advantage.
Duncan is going to be Duncan--no containing him (sorry Perk fans).
It'll be fun watching Delonte and Manu doing their stuff on the court. Both are lefties who make magic happen.

Starting line up is PP, Raef, Perk, Ricky, and Delonte. They just called Ricky the Quiet Killer! I like that!!! Spurs get the tip and Manu takes it right to the basket for a lay up. West shoots from the corner and misses badly. Perk is fouled on the rebound. Shot from the corner is off and Spurs get the rebound. manu misses a scoop shot and Boston rebounds. Ricky misses a jumper and spurs get the rebound. Parker misses from the corner. Duncan rebounds. Another Spur miss and Raef rebounds. West takes it to the basket Raef's shot is blocked and rebound tapped out to Parker who takes it the length of the court and scores a lay up. Steal by Bowen but he steps out of bounds trying to run the baseline.

Foul on Bowen guarding PP. Long jumper rims in and out. Steal by Ricky who outlets to West who is blocked on a layup. Raef fouls Parker as he goes in for a lay up on the other end. Parker makes both FT's. Pierces misses from the top of the key. Spurs rebound. Spurs fumble the ball and get called for a 3 second violation while scrambling for the ball. Pop is arguing the call and announcers are saying how that was a bad call since they were scrambling for the ball and can't be a 3 second violation.
