Brad system has incorporated a system, or principles, or a style, that works, and every player on the team understands, have bought into, and can succeed executing.
So even though we lose crucial key All-Stars, because the system is in place and everyone knows what needs to be done, we can still go on and execute our gameplan (we can still run the same concepts).
Where we are going to feel the loss of our All-Star caliber players is when we need buckets and the opposing defense is tight. Elite players like Kyrie can still ad lib and make something happen. So it's not like we don't need stars and elite players -- that, of course, we do need.
But a system that works makes it so that role players can still execute the gameplan.
This is like San Antonio. They always seem to find unnamed players who come in and fit right in and make plays. It's their system that allows them to succeed.

I agree, from Larkin to Theis to Baynes playing better than ever, and Semi contributing we seem to be a plug-and-play type team like the Spurs have been. And even the notoriously defenseless Kyrie is excelling in our defensive scheme.

Even defensively, we are looking good. A few years ago, we were a top 3 defensive team, but if you watched the way we played defense, it looked pretty chaotic, or like players just scrambling like crazy, diving on the floor and pouring out their blood, sweat and tears. That produced results (like beating the Warriors on their home court), but that amount of running and hustling would have hurt players, and it probably wasn't sustainable over the long haul of a season (especially the post season).
The defense this year isn't hectically scrambling all over the place. We are playing under control, we are switching seamlessly, guys are filling the gaps and soft spots precisely, and we're not burning up all our energy doing so.
I can't wait to see how we do against Golden State next week. It'll be a good barometer check to see how good, and real, we really are. It'll be the 16th game of the season, so not that far from the quarter mark.

I just hope we have Al and Kyrie back for the GS game. We're gonna need them.

For sure. We need them back and playing their best.
Brad has definitely found something that works against the Warriors. I wonder if he'll have Semi guard Draymond?

The past 2.5 seasons, BOS system was dependent on IT's heroic scoring, esp the 4th quarter. Now, the team has 5 options, including Hayward when he returns. A balanced attack on offense, w/ a deep bench providing defense.
