Something about this team is making me a believer. 4 preseason games against average teams aside, our guys have looked pretty good and sharp. Even Marcus Smart says he feels like this unit has been together a long time; though in reality, they've only been playing together for a few weeks.
Kyrie compliments the ball movement. Brad compliments our defense.
I don't know how it's possible for a whole new team (except for the 4 players who were here last season) to gel and be a single body so soon, but that's exactly the impression I'm getting. We're playing like a team that's been together for years, knowing exactly what to do, where to be, and how to do it. We're executing plays crisply as if we've done it a million times in practices. Players are reading each other as if they know each others' tendencies.
I don't think I'm being a homer, and I'm trying to keep a neutral perspective -- but this team looks GOOD!
But then again, the Nets have looked good too. They were 3 - 1 in preseason, averaging over 110 ppg. But no one will use their preseason to gauge how good they'll be in the regular season.
Just have to wait and see, I guess.

Ball movement. Lots of it preseason. A signature of the coach.

I think that the way the players mesh is a product of the type of players that make up the team. They are players whose games complement each other. They are egoless players who put team first. They are also versatile players that can play several positions and most of all, they are players with high BB IQ. That makes a big difference.

Ego-less, team unity, ubuntu was the key for our last championship. This team seems to have the same "all for one, one for all" presence. I think in the preseason, we were too unselfish.

This team is definitely meshing better than I would've thought especially with 11 new faces on this team. Well at least they look good in preseason. Hopefully the young guys learn to mature quicker than everyone would think they would. I expect Brown/Tatum to have big roles on this team especially if we're going to be making some big noises this year.

If we're going to make some noise and go really far, Jaylen and Tatum will need to play big roles. Jaylen needs to fill Crowder's role (and more, if possible), and Tatum needs to chip in with scoring, rebounding and enough defense.

One nugget I saw in the preseason is that Irving has excellent "read and react" skills. He knows the difference between driving, and dishing. In addition, that hesitation move is great (basically he pauses for a second, makes the defender commit then continues driving to the hoop).

He's so far, ready to play as Brad is asking him to play. I think he and Horford will work the pick and roll beautifully too. Horford helped IT look good (to the tune of 28.9 ppg), and wouldn't be surprised to see Kyrie be one of the top scorers in the league too.
