Maybe the next big fish we are going to chase after, whenever he becomes available, is Anthony Davis.
It may take Al Horford to get him (Horford has a big contract to make salaries work), but surely just Horford will not be enough.
What other players, and which draft picks will you offer to entice the Pelicans to trade us Anthony Davis?

It may take an offer pretty close to that. I'm thinking we may need another high draft pick to seal the deal. To build around Davis, Hayward, Kyrie and Jayson -- wow, that might be special

If I were N.O., I'd need more than that - unless Brown makes great strides AND the LAL/SAC pick is very high. Horford is getting too old to rebuild around, Brown is unproven, and the pick is an unknown at this point. Maybe next summer, once we know better what Brown is, and what the pick is, and if the Pelicans are desperate enough. But I think it would take Tatum too. That would still leave us with Davis, Hayward and Irving - three all-stars.

But here's the thing -- if Jaylen and Jayson make great strides, to the level that NOR demands they be included, that means they are nearing, they are on the verge to stardom. Well, if that's the case, we keep our players, and trot out a starting 5 All-star squad: Horford Tatum Hayward Jaylen Kyrie

Yeah, not saying I'd do the deal; just saying I think that's what it would take.

Apparently, our second round picks are pretty valuable (at least to some), so what if we package our remaining 2020 2nd rounder with our TWO 2022 second round picks. I know, three picks for one player is a steep price, but AD might be worth it.

N.O. will request multiple first round picks to make a trade for AD work.
I wouldn't surprise they'll ask for a bare minimum Lakers Pick, Mem Pick, and Celtics pick. Then, it'll be between Brown/Tatum who get package in the deal. In the end, N.O. will have no interest in adding Horford unless their plan is to blow up that team. In their eyes, Horford would be negative value as he more as a cap filler rather than a valuable asset especially with that salary.

Horford, various picks we currently have, M Smart, M Morris
If we're lucky they send us back Chieck Diallo. This just leaves us really thin up front with Theis and free agents and makes it hard for us to draft any replacements, but with the mid level exception we should be able to get someone decent.
Yab and Semi might be able to help as bigs.

The offer is contingent on how many years are left on Davis' contract. 2-years+, BOS will have to empty the war chest. 1-year-, New Oreleans is getting Cousins/George type of returns.

When the time comes, and Anthony Davis is ready to leave New Orleans in order to win championships, one has got to think that AD is looking at BOS as one of his choices. We're one major piece away from being what Golden State is right now.
This Big 4 makes us a dynasty: Anthony Davis, Al Horford, Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving
To get him, we're going to have to offer a motherload of assets to New Orleans, who will no doubt be asking for high end young talent and draft picks to restart their rebuild.
We're going to have to offer Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, plus numerous 1st round picks (including the LA/PHI and Memphis and LAC), plus other salaries to match Anthony Davis' 23 mil (25 next season).
Now, that is a HUGE price to pay for one player, and we are mortgaging our entire future to win now.
But here's the beauty of it -- Davis is only 23. Kyrie is 25. Gordon is 27 (and Horford is 30, got a few more really good seasons left in him). This core can win now AND in the future. We could have a 5 - 7 year window where we're contending for titles every year.
And in case we forget, Ainge is really good at starting over, rebuilding, and putting together a good team instantly.
Ainge accumulates young talent, hoards draft picks, saves cap space -- all so that when an opportunity arises to snag a superstar, he's ready to make his offer. And I think Anthony Davis knows this. He's got to already be thinking Boston is where he wants to play at, along with 3 other stars, along with a great young head coach, a well run organization, loyal fans, etc.
