It was announced that IT originally hurt the hip on March 15th against the Wolves. He missed two games and then played every game until he shut it down in the ECF. Could it possibly been a mistake to let him keep playing?
Did maybe the training staff miss out on this and should have shut him down and that's why Danny let them all go and went with a whole new training staff? There have been players whose career ended due to a similar injury. Others have returned and played well after it. Who's call was it not to have surgery? Was it IT's so as not to miss any of his contract year? Did the Celtics' doctors sign off on his decision and now it's evident that it was the wrong one?
Did Danny tell the Cavs everything including the fact that the Celtics doctors signed off on his not having surgery only to have the Cavs doctors look at it and say he should have had surgery and still might need it? Could the problem with the trade now be because of a difference of opinion between team doctors rather then the Celtics not telling them everything?
IT has been saying all summer that his rehab was going very well and that he wouldn't need surgery and that he would be ready for camp. Did IT really believe that even though he still hasn't been cleared by a doctor to resume basketball activities? Or was IT just throwing up a smoke screen knowing that he wouldn't be cleared?
There are definitely a lot of questions about this whole thing. I doubt we will ever get the answers to many of them. But I'm thinking that the whole mess with IT's hip was part of why we have a whole new training staff after decades of having the same group. What do you guys think?
